On the back of the photograph notation says, “On Fellsway East within a half mile of the business street, but the swans are gone.”

Santa arrives at Medford City Hall to the delight of local boys, girls and the young at heart.
Medford Fire Chief Frank Giliberti Jr., retired Nov. 30 after 23 years leading the department and 39 years of service. A few friends, family and c-workers gathered at City Hall to mark his transition from a man of uniform to a man of leisure. Mayor Breanna Lungo-Koehn commended his tenure. Here are her remarks: For as long as I’ve been in elected office, Chief Giliberti has been there, leading the department and offering me wisdom, guidance and encouragement. I will always cherish our time as colleagues and I’m grateful for your partnership in the early days of my administration as we tackled (COVID-19) together. Entering into a life of public service can be as rewarding as it is challenging. To dedicate thirty-nine years of your life to the community is truly one of the most selfless and inspiring things you can do. It’s hard to imagine the Medford Fire Department without you, but I know that the legacy you’ve created and the professionalism with which you’ve served with will continue with the new Chief.
