OptiLink Spotlight: Emily Pratt

This month, we’re excited to shine the spotlight on Emily Pratt, our Application Project Manager, who has been a valued part of the Dalton Utilities team since August 29, 2005!

Emily describes herself as the “baby” of the family. The youngest of four siblings, she proudly embraces her “I do what I want” attitude. She’s been married to her “much nicer” husband, Chris, for 22 years, and they've raised two sons, Caylor and Easton. In 2022, their family grew when Caylor married Jayda.
When she’s not managing software projects and collaborating with teams across departments, Emily loves diving into genealogy research, crafting, gardening, cooking, and reading. Her family enjoys traveling, camping, and riding dual sports. On Sundays, you can find her and her family volunteering at Rock Bridge Community Church in Chatsworth. One of Emily’s proudest accomplishments is earning her degree while balancing life as a mom, wife, and full-time employee.

When asked what she loves most about working at DU, Emily stated:
“While I really enjoy what I do at DU, my favorite part is the incredible people I get to work alongside.”

OptiLink Team Member Spotlight
Meet Hank Blackwood! Hank joined Dalton Utilities back in 1993 and currently serves as the Chief Technology Services Officer. With over three decades of dedicated service, Hank has played a major role in advancing the utility's technology and keeping our community connected. His deep knowledge and leadership continue to shape the future of our services.

Outside of work, Hank and his wife Cassandra—an elementary school teacher—share their home with their beloved fur babies: Molly, a 120-pound Bullmastiff who rules the house, and Jasper the cat, who keeps everyone on their toes. Though they don’t have children of their own, Hank and Cassandra are proud aunt and uncle figures to a large extended family.

A true outdoor enthusiast, Hank enjoys backpacking, off-roading in his old Jeep, and diving into all things radio-related. His lifelong passion for radio began as a child listening to shortwave broadcasts with his father, eventually leading him to earn the FCC’s Amateur Extra Class license.

Hank says what he enjoys most about his role is providing essential services to the community and building lasting relationships with colleagues. “Dalton Utilities rewards hard work and values people who are committed to doing their best.”
