The first panelist for our upcoming DEI in Advertising Panel Discussion on May 1 at 7pm is Dr. Melissa Sgroi.

Dr. Sgroi is a professor in the Mass Communications and Design department at Misericordia and her research focus is disability rights.

Meet one of our session speakers for the 2024 Young Professionals Conference: Taryn Talacka, Communications Specialist at Archer Education! Taryn will be running a workshop on career development, with a session titled "Resume Building and Interviewing!"

Our Regional Young Professionals Conference is happening on March 20th, and hosted in partnership with the United Way of Wyoming Valley and our regional chambers. This day-long conference is aimed at developing our area's talented professionals. The theme of this year's conference is "Fuel and Fulfill!"

Congratulations to the students of Video 1 on completing their final videos and presentations.

The students started the semester with little to no video experience and finished an Impact Video for four local non-profit organizations- Junior Achievement of Northeastern PA, Parenting Autism United, Equines For Freedom, and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeastern Pennsylvania.

Meet John Huber ’23, a Department of Mass Communications and Design major currently interning with Parenting Autism United. John and founder Lindsay Dragon recently brought their Dragon Tales Reading and Art Program to Beyond Behavior Counseling. In addition to being a photographer, John is also an aspiring writer and has a regular column, Allow Me to Change Your Mind, in The Highlander, the university’s student-run newspaper.

Here's a look behind-the-scenes as Misericordia University Professor Dan Kimbrough works with students Sean Lynch and Megan Oldak as they direct and produce the Misericordia Men's Basketball game vs. the Manhattanville Valiants. The Department of Mass Communications and Design, Misericordia Alumni, and Misericordia University Athletics are working together to produce single and multicamera events on campus as part of the MCAD curriculum, including our new specialization in Sports Communications.
