When “The Marvels” came out ( in which I’ve yet to see), I thought it was going to be about the Kurt Busiek and Alex Ross version of the title. But if they did, it would have to be done in a TV series. There’s no possible way to cram a time period of 1939 to 1974 in a two and a half hour feature. Your thoughts…?

FROM THE COWTOWN COMIC CON in Ft. Worth, Texas… We all had a CU Professional get-together this past weekend at the Will Rogers Memorial Center , from R to L: John P. Araujo ( Araujo Arts), Ryan Westbrook ( MOTB Comics), Richard E. Richard E. Dominguez ( Azteca Productions, Inc.) and new member Robert Arista ( Comic Cartel). We all had a blast, traded books, drew like crazy of each other characters and had fun talking comics. We hope this’ll be a regular thing.

FROM THE "OK, 'TIS BACK-TO-BUSINESS" DEPT: Again, to all my Facebook family and friends, thank you so much for all of your Birthday Wishes. Now, I must turn to the business at hand... As most of you might already know, a week from today I will be a guest at the upcoming Cowtown Comic Con being held at the Will Rogers Memorial Center in Ft.Worth, Texas on Saturday, Sept. 30 and Sunday, Oct. 1. I will have my table filled with EGN goodies for me to sell and signed. I will debut my new "ashcans" which will be the "sneak peek" of pages I've already pencilled and inked (sans the lettering) of my upcoming next book: EL GATO NEGRO, NOCTURNAL WARRIOR, GRAPHIC NOVEL #0: "SETTING THE STAGES". A 32-page (and that's just 1/4 of the story) teaster-trailer of what's to come on the next El Gato Negro book. So, hurry down to Cowtown and get a copy for I've only printed a limited run. October 1st will be EGN's Birthday, marking it 30 years of existence in the comic book industry, commemorating it's 30th Anniversary! I will have my table right next to my good friend and peer, John Araujo (publisher, Araujo Arts) in which his characters will also appear in the ashcan. So, come one, come all!

I know that it's been almost a month since we hit the Latino Comics Expo, but I needed to share this. Here is the Original El Gato Negro (Agustín Guerrero) done through the eyes of a good friend, Jason Gonzalez a.k.a. 'J.Gonzo'...isn't this awesome!
Jason is the creator, writer and artist of his own Lucha Libre comic book, La Mano del Destino! Check it out, I've got all my copies. Who knows, maybe these two luchadors will end up in a awesome crossover.

Well, the "Gato" is outta the bag...I'll be in Long Beach, California to attnd the 10th Anniversary Edition of the Latino Comics Expo on Saturday, April 30 to Sunday May 1, 2022.
I will be selling and signing my latest book, El Gato Negro, Nocturnal Warrior Collection: The Beginning.
I will also have T-shirts, caps (new ítem), buttons, stickers, magnetics and other EGN goodies.
I will do sketches and have some artwork displayed plus a "sneak peek" at my latest EGN graphic novel I'm currently working on.
So, if you'e in the area, come by, say hola and get yourself a signed copy of Latino comic book history to add in your collection.

DALLAS COMIC SHOW UPDATE: We did it!! Our first show in a couple of years and I still got it!!! Sold a great number of El Gato Negro, Nocturnal Warrior Collection along with T-Shirts, EGN goodies and some commissions and sketches. Old buddy, Mark Walters asked me if I'd like to be in his next show (same place) scheduled for November? (Can I get a 'Hell Yeah!'?) Things are going with Azteca Productions, LLC.

Azteca Productions, LLC is an American comic book publishing company and imprint founded by comic book creator Richard E. Dominguez in 1993.[1] The company's first publication was El Gato Negro #1 showcasing the debut of the eponymous character, in what is now considered the company's flagship series. Publications went on hiatus during the rise and fall of the speculative market in the late 1990s until Dominguez returned in 2004.

Azteca Productions' first publication was El Gato Negro #1 (October, 1993) featuring the first appearance of the character of the same name. The series was critically acclaimed, allowing Dominguez to pursue a four-part story arc. The publication of El Gato Negro was later followed with the superhero group Team Tejas in 1997. Shortly after, all publications came to a halt during the late 1990s, in which several independent publishers went out of business. Dominguez would later return in 2004 with a new El Gato Negro, Nocturnal Warrior series with writer Michael S. Moore and artist Efren V. Molina. The company currently has several different titles in development including The Acolyte: Demon Hunter, Lucha Grande Comics (Adventures of El Gato Negro’s grandfather, the original EGN), Cool Beans and Little EGN in his adventures in the strip, C.U.B.’s (Creators United Babies).

With the popularity of El Gato Negro, Nocturnal Warrior, MGM has acquired the rights to make it an upcoming TV series with Mexican actor Diego Boneta in the title role. Joel Novoa ( Arrow) as executive producer and director.
