It’s easy for those of us on the tech and journalism side of the industry to feel overlooked sometimes. We’re the ones behind the cameras, mics, and stories, shining a spotlight on the incredible talent around us—but we rarely expect the spotlight to turn our way.

Happy New Year y’all!

Hey friends,

It’s Austin here, and I’ve got some surprising news. Spotify has officially pulled The Austin Young Show from their platform. I’m not entirely sure why—maybe we talked too much s**t on how they underpay musicians, or maybe the shows love for DFW’s alternative music scene was just too much for them. Whatever the reason, I’m taking this as a sign that we’re doing something right.

This podcast has never been about fitting in. It’s about celebrating the music and the community that fuels us. If Spotify doesn’t want the show, that’s fine. I’m not going anywhere.
