I apologize if it seems like I make it look easy having an inbound-only social media management business.

I realize I don’t talk enough about what it actually took to get here.

When people visit my page or follow me, they see

—> All the discovery calls I get to wake up to
—> All the proposals I send off (or the ones I choose not to)
—> All of the clients I sign within 24 hours after sending the proposal

What you don’t see is

—> All the 60-hour workweeks it took to get here
—> All the nights I said no to going out with my friends because I had to make content
—> All the weekends that were spent trying to figure out what to post so that I have discovery calls lined up the next week

It’s not like I knew EXACTLY what to post to wake up to discovery calls when I began my business as a newbie to social media management, but I was eager to figure it out because outreach sounded terrible and something inside of me was saying “you don’t need to do outreach to build your business”

I’m glad I listened to that voice because all the hard work, sleepless nights, and long weekends that I put into understanding what triggers people to book discovery calls with me and sign without hesitation or objections is why I now have an INBOUND-ONLY business.

I know you already know that I don’t believe in outreach, but now you know what it took to get to a point where I never have to do outreach and can rest knowing that my content will make me money ON REPEAT.

Most Social Media Managers are exhausted trying to manage their client’s accounts.

Let’s be honest you’ve become your client’s entire marketing director, not just their social media manager.

You got into this business to have autonomy, and freedom, and to work according to your own schedule so that you can continue to travel, to be a stay-at-home mom, or to simply work, live, and play from wherever you want.

However, your clients treat you like you don’t have a life, or like you don’t have other clients to look after. It’s like they think you can drop whatever you’re doing in a split second to be there for them & to do whatever it is that they need.

Let’s face it, this isn’t sustainable for you or your business and it’s going to keep you from signing that next client or even continuing to nurture the clients you already have because you’re feeling so burnt out.

The reason I don’t wake up feeling flustered that I have a million and ten things to do for my clients is that I’ve made it crystal clear what I do and what I don’t do.

My proposals and agreements are fine-tuned to be very specific on what duties I perform and that anything outside of the SOW will result in additional fees.

Your ideal client isn’t going to say no to you because of your boundaries. They’re not going to find someone else to market and manage their page because you can’t be their entire marketing director.

Your ideal client will make it a priority to work with you because they respect you as a human and they know that you’re valuable to their business.

What if being a social media manager was actually what it is cracked up to be?

- Having autonomy
- Experiencing freedom in whatever way you desire it
- Being able to be a mom who’s present with her family while still bringing in an income
- Traveling on the job because you can live, play, and work from wherever

High ticket clients are BUSY clients.

They are running a multiple 6-figure or 7-figure company trying to oversee every department.

Trust me. I know because I’ve worked with them.

These clients care less about how big your portfolio is and more about whether you can prove that you can drive results without making their lives harder than it already is.

Oftentimes you’ll find that high-ticket clients are more hands-off and trust in your abilities to do what you say you can do.

They’ll speak with you maybe once or twice a month just to review the numbers and to make sure there’s movement forward.

So if you’re spending a lot of time trying to build up your portfolio, maybe you should tend to what’s already in your garden. Continue to nurture the clients you already have, push past their expectations, hit numbers that are beyond what they hoped for, and by doing this you can pull jaw-dropping social proof from what’s already in your hands rather than pulling your attention away to search for the next client or the next dollar for the sake up building your portfolio.

After refusing to believe that I could offer any sort of wisdom or knowledge to the ones who come to me time and time again asking for help. I realized I’ve been believing the story that social media tells anyone who tries to lend a helping hand.

And ladies know what that story is.

“Unless you’re a 7-figure business owner you have no right to be providing mentorship”

What the last 3 months have taught me is that you can’t ignore something that was intentionally put on your heart no matter how hard you try.

When I reflect back on my own journey, I can’t help but smile because I did a lot of things in my business that others deem to be impossible.

Such as:

- Quitting my day job within 4 months of starting my social media management business
- Quadrupling my day job income within 4 months of posting
- 100% of my clientele came from content I posted because I knew how to market myself without doing outreach
- Being invited to speak on 3 different podcasts
- Hitting the 6 figure mark in 2023
- Getting to onboard a team because my content was producing too many discovery calls and clients for me to handle on my own
- Hundreds of people in my DM’s & comments asking how they can work with me and how they can learn from me

So in a nutshell, I do know what I’m doing.

My new standard is only open for the ones who will jump in even if they don’t know how to swim.

They’re ready to saddle up and get on with it because they’re done wasting time going back and forth on what they believe to be true.

They’ve been told a million and ten times that they’re not qualified or good enough so therefore they should give up, but this kind of stuff only fires them up more.

They’re risk takers, they don’t play it safe because every time they’ve played it safe they’ve gotten nowhere.

If you’re ready to pull up your sleeves, get dirty, and do it messy then you’re in the right spot.

DM me ‘the social class’ to jump in.
