Trump Proposes Relocation Plan for Palestinians Amid Gaza Crisis

MIAMI, United States: Former US President Donald Trump proposed a controversial plan on Saturday to “just clean out” Gaza and relocate Palestinians to Egypt and Jordan as part of a broader strategy for Middle East peace.

Describing Gaza as a “demolition site” in the aftermath of the Israel-Hamas war, Trump stated he had discussions with Jordan’s King Abdullah II and intended to speak with Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi regarding this proposal.

“I’d like Egypt to take people. And I’d like Jordan to take people,” Trump said while addressing reporters aboard Air Force One. “You’re talking about probably a million and a half people, and we just clean out that whole thing. Over the centuries, it’s had many, many conflicts… something has to happen.”

The war, which erupted after Hamas’s attack on southern Israel on October 7, 2023, has displaced the majority of Gaza’s 2.4 million residents, with many forced to relocate multiple times due to ongoing conflict.
