Italy for Disney fans 🇮🇹 Cinque Terre is one of our favorite places in Italy and the location inspiration of Disney Pixar’s film Luca!
The film flew under the radar as it was a 2021 release straight to streaming, but much like the land that inspired the scenes, it’s a treasure.
🧭 Tips for visiting:
• Shoulder season isn’t what it used to be - expect crowds and pack your patience.
• Cinque Terre is made of 5 small coastal villages. Hop from village to village by the central train in each one, or wear your hiking shoes to hike the trails between them.
•Go to Riomaggiore for the iconic views, Manarola for cute cats, Corniglia for life changing lemon basil gelato, Vernazza for seaside seafood like a frito misto cone and a spritz, and Montorosso for the best beach in Cinque Terre.

Conveyor belt sushi in Tokyo for the wiiin 🏅With such a short time in Tokyo, we only really had time to explore the area around our hotel in Chuo area and enjoy some really good sushi at this amazing spot we’ve seen all over Instagram in our Tokyo research. We had the best time exploring Tokyo and can’t wait to go back again someday to eat and explore further!#japanesefood #sushilovers #tokyotravel #layoverlife #travelcouple #travelstories
Traveling to China was shockingly easy 😱
Turns out you can easily visit mainland China for up to 6 days on what’s called a transit visa! We flew from Bangkok, Thailand to Shanghai, China on the way to Tokyo, Japan and stayed 24 hours on a completely free transit visa.
We’ve looked into the 10-year China travel visa before and will probably apply for that one day, but this was an awesome way to get our feet wet in the country to see what a quick visit to Shanghai is like!
Next time, we’d love to spend about 3 days exploring the city and 2 days in Shanghai Disney of course!

It was an interesting experience trying different McDonald menu items in Thailand! We of course have had way more Thai meals of Pad Thai, Pad See Ew, and much more, but sometimes you just want to try a different take on an American classic. Thailand McDonald’s definitely didn’t disappoint with all of these unique menu items #mcdonalds #americansabroad #relatable #foodstagram #fastfood
Basically our @virginvoyages paid for our Christmas Markets world tour. We’re in no way affiliated with this card, we just have to share a hot tip when we have one we love and stand by!
The @hyatt World of Hyatt card is seriously our favorite card on the market if you’re getting into collecting points and miles for future travel. We couldn’t recommend it enough!

Imagine saying the EPCOT ball was a must see in America… that’s the same as saying the Golden Bridge is a must-visit attraction in Vietnam.
If you’ve seen any epic footage of Vietnam, it will nearly always showcase this iconic “hands” bridge as a must-see sight in Vietnam, but most fail to mention it’s just a bridge to no where in a theme park!
Saying the Golden Bridge is a must visit is like saying Spaceship Earth is a must visit.
Y’all know we are huge Disney fans, but we’d never dream of mentioning EPCOT as one place you HAVE to see when visiting the USA.
This was a bit of an instagram vs reality flop, but we must say it was still pretty cool to see something we’ve seen in so many photos in real life - even if it’s just a simple bridge on the top of a mountain in a Vietnamese theme park 😆
Good for you…I guess. 🥲 When you waited 1 hr & all ya got was engineer on Smugglers Run.

Every.single.time. We actually really liked the Airbnb - on the inside! But coming back to the room was a choooore. Oh the joy of ancient buildings.
What’s the weirdest Airbnb instructions you’ve ever had?

Waking up early while traveling is worth it!
😱 This video at Rome’s iconic Trevi Fountain was taken at 10:30 am! Still pretty early in the day, and look at the crowds!
No matter where we go, we always like to get out early and see as much as we can in the mornings. The streets are quieter, the locals are out walking their dogs or taking the kids to school, the cafes are brewing, and the summer temps are always kinder than midday.

We recently visited a wild Vietnamese theme park called @sunworldbanahills! It was definitely an experience, but the craziest part? ITS ON TOP OF THE MOUNTAIN!
And the only way to get there? This crazy 15-minute cable car.
Andrew had a great time enjoying the scenery on this crazy long windy, rainy, unstable journey over ravines and cliff sides. Sharp rocks at the bottom? Most likely.
Barely brave enough for the Skyliner at Disney World and now this?! I nearly had a panic attack until I remembered I have a Gospel playlist downloaded to my @spotify and convinced myself I surely couldn’t die to the tunes of Kirk Franklin. 😅
After the longest fifteen minutes of my life, we made it to the top! And it was the rainiest day “Sun World” has surely ever seen. At the end of the park day, we remembered the only way down is the way we came up.
Spoiler alert - we somehow lived through both sky gondola rides! We lived to tell the tale!

Overall, we found we spent about $30-$35 a day on food for two people! A typical day would entail one free hotel breakfast each morning, one meal of local dishes which costs $5-$7, an afternoon coffee for about $2-$3, and one meal with international or “western” dishes which costs about $20. (Reminder - all prices are for the both of us!)
arts & crafts in Vietnam via @getyourguide🏮 I honestly had the best time in this custom lantern class creating my own souvenir!
You have the choice of doing the full two hour class where you do every little part of it yourself (aka very guided with helpful, hilarious staff) or you can do the “express” 45 minute class where the frame is already built for you - you just do the custom fabric and tassel.
In the full class, it was just me and one other Norwegian couple. Once the express class began, two Australian families joined us! Honestly, the crafting of the lantern was more fun than the fabric part, so I highly recommend booking the full class.
If you have three days in Hoi An, I would highly recommend booking a class or two! Get Your Guide has many great options to choose from at really great rates.
As full-time travelers, we like to try local coffee shops first before going to a familiar Starbucks for our classic Americano orders, but dang it, Vietnam, your coffee is too strong and sweet for us! After a week of attempting to down the sugar-filled jet fuel for breakfast, our hearts needed a big ol’ cup of classic American black coffee.
When we took the Grab (the Uber equivalent in most of Asia) to this @starbucks location in Old Town Hoi An, we had no idea it would look like this!
The bottom floor space was large, and we didn’t even know you could go upstairs until we say another pair dash up. We waited a few minutes for our coffees, then curiously followed two others to the lesser-known upstairs portion where we were greeted with this amazing scene!
Winter in Vietnam is kind of perfect, and it’s been typically sunny and breezy with a high of 75°F ☀️ so it truly was the perfect day/place to work from for a few hours!
