I so enjoy having the opportunity to be with Mary on SuperTalk, bringing information intended to empower people to live intentionally and fully aware that no one is bound or trapped based on the past or the present. We have more freedom than we realize when we unlock the bo***ge we have allowed to limit us based on believing the past or pain somehow limits us. That’s not at all the case. We are to learn from the past and harness strength available when maturing and growing through pain. There is freedom-and freedom unlocks potential and creativity...and life flows naturally from that place.

I will be back with Mary tomorrow morning at 9 am on 97.3 SuperTalk MS. Mary and I will be talking about the wisdom of being proactive in preparing for transition. I’ll give some tips to facilitate successfully transitioning into the school year. Additionally, we will discuss how entitlement robs people from discovering the joy of being responsible. Entitlement is always an indicator of immaturity and maturity always and only comes through intentional effort and having made the decision to embrace delayed gratification while choosing daily to remain postured in gratitude. The fruit of these choices is a confidence that we can move through and into whatever transition we encounter.

Su***de is never an option-yet few people understand that the seed thought that grows into that “option” is simply “I can’t handle this.” We actually can not only “handle” heartbreak, trauma, grief, tragedy and other difficulties but we actually mature and become stronger when we position ourselves to endure in difficulty posturing our perspective so that we learn through that situations that feels unbearable. I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to talk about this on SuperTalk MS with Mary. It is our passion at Center for Change to come alongside our clients who feel stuck and hopeless and help them discover the path in life that only that person can walk. I venerate authenticity and desire for my clients to know the value they bring into this world. My desire as a clinician is to see my clients learn from the past to discover their strengths, embrace their vulnerabilities, and protect the tenderness that pain attempts to demolish. Pain never has to bring emotional paralysis but all to often that happens. As humans we need to honor the truth of the pain we encounter yet never give the pain the power to script the present or the future.
