Finally opened the coop door to let the flock get some sun. While they were out, I grabbed their kiddie pool to make them a dust bath for inside the coop (filling the pool is dusty!). They loved it last year and this year they are dealing with scaley mites! So I added DE to the bath to help with that. Hopefully it'll help them stay entertained while they are cooped up for these cold days!

Well, today's the day! We had a broody hen who wouldn't break being broody for months. So I decided to give her 6 eggs to hatch. 4 made it. Recently, Tina Turner (Daughter of Lita Ford our white silkie hen and Gomez our golden seabright roo who was just hatched in February and barely laying yet) decides she wants in on the action and got broody too.
For the past couple weeks, the 2 of them would go back and forth sitting on the eggs with Tina on the nest for the hatch of our first naturally hatched egg on the farm! Judy, of course, was pretty mad Tina stole her baby 🤣🤣
Ducks got a pool for today's hot day! Supposed to be a high of 77 up here in the Yoop and the ducks are ready for a pool party! Also expanded their run to get them into the shade of the woods. 😁👩🏼🌾🦆🌴🌞🍹

Ducks were mad that I didn't refill their food sooner 😂 they are getting very big! Luckily for them, they have a nice big run outside until their duck house gets situated by the pond for summer. Today, however, it's in the 20's with 20+mph wind and snow, so they get to stay cozy today!
Duckies got some taste of sunshine! Now that the weather's nice, I'm going to build them a nice ramp 😀
