All six of these were cut right here at The Pig Farm!

I’m packing up CDs to fulfill preorders and for Patreon members and I pulled the CDs for a new Patreon CD subscription member. It hit me that we’ve now released SIX CDs in two years! How cool is that?

This can also be a reminder that if you join the fan club on Patreon at the CD subscription tier then you’ll get SIX CDs in your first benefits shipment! Things are heating up down here. We’ll have some jalapeños and a new Lucky Jones record ready for harvest here real soon!

Our spring has consisted of balancing tree removal, brush clearing, tracking the new Lucky Jones record, and starting the first phase of our garden/orchard. We’re working for a big harvest of blueberries, tomatoes, okra, peppers, and pears. If all goes well we will double our variety and increase our yield exponentially next year! What are you guys growing this year?

Wrapped up a day of tracking and then wrapped some stuff in bacon and put it on the smoker!
Bacon wrapped, jalapeño and cream cheese stuffed chicken thighs along with some Texas Twinkies.

Studio renovations continue but it’s also Rib Day here at The Pig Farm! That Lucky Jones “This Ain’t Memphis” BBQ Rub makes them ribs look just ast good as they taste!

Some pre-production happening today at the farm! Looks like we’ll be tracking a new Lucky Jones record soon!

I love guitar gear and I swap a lot of pieces in and out for variety but THIS. This is the core of my guitar sound. The guitar is a Gretsch Brian Setzer Hot Rod with TV Jones pickups and strung up with GHS Strings Boomers 10-46. The preamp/echo unit is The Nocturne Brain BS-301 Mystery Brain. It’s basically a Roland RE-301 Space Echo in a pedal. It does the Setzer slightly driven slapback sound as well as all the other cool things that a Space Echo does! If you play rockabilly guitar, you need one. Period. The amp is the amazing Quilter Labs Tone Block 202 into the Block Dock 15. This amp has the sound I’ve been trying to get out of tune amps for years at less than half the weight and triple the flexibility. If you haven’t tried the Tone Block 202 through the Quilter/Eminence Steelaire 15” speaker, you are missing out on something special!

I could easily get by with just these pieces and I like to strip it down like this when I’m writing and arranging guitar parts to keep me from fiddling around with k***s when I need to be making songwriting decisions!
