Attention all Indiana homebuyers and potential buyers……

Today, Monday, July 1, 2024, an Indiana Realtor CAN NOT show you a home unless you have signed an agreement with them. This goes in to affect nationwide on August 17th (as of right now).

In Indiana, starting July 1st a Realtor will not be able to tour a home without you first signing this agreement. This will be non negotiable for any real estate agent. The agreement between buyer and Realtor is a Buyers Representation Agreement. The agreement is a contract between you and the REALTOR in which you are agreeing to hire the Agent to represent you with the purchase of a home and agree to the roles, duties and responsibilities owed to you by your agent and your duties to your agent.

Remember, interview your REALTOR, ask for references and look at reviews.

Purchasing a home is a HUGE step! You’ll want someone that will look out for your best interest, someone that knows the local market well, someone EXPERIENCED, someone that understands contracts, someone that can explain your contractual deadlines, someone who can negotiate on your behalf effectively and someone that will answer your call or text!

✨Congratulations to my buyer!✨

What a blessing to sit at the closing table today. Despite facing circumstances beyond our control, and at not fault of my buyer, everyone stepped up to get this deal done. We were presented with an obstacle, we should have never been presented with, (welcome to RE!) What made all of the difference in this transaction was the team we had in place and how we ALL navigated this major hurdle like true professionals, We rallied together, everyone gave up something to ensure we made it here. We all put the buyer first, I’m so proud of this team we had and can confidently say if anyone had a “me first” mentality, we wouldn’t have closed. This is the kind of team we all want in place when obstacles arise. Real Estate is easy when it’s “easy” but when issues arise outside of your control you want a solid team of professionals beside you.

Huge thanks to my buyer Steven! He was the true MVP in all of this, I’m sure he was frustrated, I know I would have been, he showed so much grace and patience to a situation undeserving. Just when you think you’ve seen it all….SUPRISE!
