We are lucky enough to have some return customers, and we asked one of them what she learned going into her second planting season using our wool pellets. 1. Be sure to mix the pellets in with the soil. Although sprinkling the pellets on top of soil does help, working them into the soil proves to be more effective. 2. Be ready to cut back on watering.Without pellets she was having to water every other day. With pellets, depending on temperatures and wind, she can go two or more days without watering.
A few steps and tips as you garden with wool pellets! Don’t forget to adjust your watering schedule to avoid over watering due to the water retention of the pellets.

Some would say they are napping experts. Jokes aside, our Livestock Guardian Dogs, lovingly referred to as management, spend most of the night on patrol helping to keep the sheep safe from predators. So, when we see them catching a little shut eye we let it slide. #wyoming #livestockguardiandog #sheep #woolpellets #wool
Nothing like some quick Saturday morning cardio with the lambs! You may be wondering why they have numbers on their sides in different colors of paint. This is how we track which ewe they belong to. The color indicates if they are a single, twin, or triplet. Red is for singles, blue is for twins, and green is for triplets. #Wyoming #lambs #woolpellets #cardio

Appreciation is the word that comes to mind as we near the end of 2023. 🌻Appreciation for you, and our ever-growing community of support. 🌻🌻Appreciation for the work involved in taking a business plan written out on paper to a product in the hands and gardens of our customers. 🌻🌻🌻Finally, appreciation for the opportunity to sustain and grow in a place like this. We are excited to see where that appreciation takes us in 2024. Thank you for your support in 2023!
🌱Test Plot Update! If you’ve been following along over the summer, we placed our wool pellets in test plots in different environments around the ranch. Our first update is from the irrigated pasture. It was interesting to see the difference in quantities of pellets made in each situation. 🐑One of our favorite points about this experiment is that it takes place in a location where our sheep graze during the year. The sheep eat the grass grown on the field (assisted by the wool pellets) which helps them to grow wonderful wool coats to keep them warm in the winter, and then they are sheared in the spring prior to the lambing season. Their wool is used in different products, including pellets. After they give birth to their lambs, they are all turned out on the fields again, and the cycle starts over. #wyoming #woolpellets #wool #agriculture
Happy Father’s Day!
Happy Father’s Day from Cottonwood Creek Wool! We would like to highlight one particular dad who wears many hats. He’s the cow boss (or at least we will let him say that today), spreadsheet expert, and in-house rangeland technician. Most importantly, he’s a good dad. #Wyominglife #Agriculture #fathersday
