I have a laptop and a couple of mics - recording studios are obsolete and serve my band no purpose!
I have heard this so many times and sadly is that not only do you need a studio to get your sound to the next level you also need to use the full resources of the studio to experiment. Sadly, the pricing and rates of studios are notoriously expensive. But what if I told you that Blu Rhino is truly working to set evolving trends that challenge the way the industry thinks. Since we are focused on the local scene we don’t really have a bill sheet because we want to to partner with every local act we can to provide affordable tracking, mixing, and mastering services. We start with a free consultation. Your band might have an experienced member who is fluent with a certain DAW and has recorded / mixed the band previously. We think that’s amazing and we are not trying to replace your own creativity, in this scenario you might just want to enlarge the different microphones available to you, or even track live drums in a room that is constantly evolving and improving its acoustics. We also have some real vintage amps for bassists and guitarist alike or more modern offerings all from Ampeg, Marshal, Fender, among others. Maybe you want to use a real 1073LB or two or three, or API 312’s on a mic’Ed drum kit compressed and gated going into real quality Digital / Analog converters.
A studio allows you to find and discover different combinations, or improved acoustics. At Blu we work our sessions into billable time and “creative” time. We allow for your project enough “creative” non billable time to explore, and this way you get the best experience and results. This is just one of the small ways we work with artists to make studio usage a positive and creative experience that will improve their recording. Contact us for a consultation. (Pictured are some of our mic selections, many of these are offered repeatedly but for the sake of the shot we reduced to a single example of each mic - out lists grow monthly and we are always adding vintage or modern mics)
