Heads up. We have the potential for some severe weather headed our way. See below from National Weather Service and Okaloosa Public Safety Director Patrick Maddox.

🟩 OVERVIEW/WHAT'S NEW: Strong to severe storms remain possible Saturday afternoon into Saturday night before a cold front moves through the area, with increasing confidence over interior portions of southeastern Mississippi into interior southwestern Alabama. While this focuses on the Saturday/Saturday night event, there is also a small possibility of some strong to severe storms Friday morning/afternoon over southeast Mississippi, southwestern Alabama, and the Florida Panhandle. This threat is comparatively low but a strong to damaging wind gust and/or tornado can't be ruled out with any storms Friday.

⬛️ WHAT: Isolated to scattered severe storms capable of damaging wind gusts to 60 mph, quarter size hail, and tornadoes.
⬛️ WHEN: Mainly Saturday afternoon into Saturday night.
⬛️ WHERE: Enhanced risk of severe storms over far interior southwestern Mississippi and interior southwestern Alabama, a Slight risk of severe storms over much of southeast Mississippi and much of southwest Alabama west of the I-65 corridor. Elsewhere, a Marginal risk exists east of I-65 and the rest of the Florida Panhandle into the immediate coastal counties of Alabama.
⬛️ CONFIDENCE: Low to moderate, increasing over interior portions of southeastern Mississippi into southwestern Alabama.
