11/18: CHANGES BREWING.
TV10 Crested Butte and Gunnison Valley Daily Weather Update- For 11/18: We are seeing some high clouds early from the western edge of this big elongated trough pushing east. It will move through over the course of the morning with a quick sunny slot ahead of this next trough that will build in through the afternoon. Look for snow showers late afternoon with periods of heavier snow possible overnight but the good dynamics are lacking moisture so the result will be 2-4 for CB and 1-3 for Gunni.

Temperatures: Lows dropped ahead of the clouds to 7 for CB and 12 for Gunni. Highs will reach 34 for CB and 41 for Gunni. Lows tonight will look similar even with the snow.

Outlook: This next round will move through from the northwest to southeast through Tuesday morning with snow showers clearing from west to east into the afternoon. Accumulations will be limited but the cold core of this trough will keep highs in the teens and 20s. Wednesday will bring a complete bounce with sunny skies and increasing temperatures that will hold through the end of the week.

11/17: COOL AND SUNNY.
TV10 Crested Butte and Gunnison Valley Daily Weather Update- For 11/17: We are sitting in the col of this stretched out trough with sunny skies and cooler air but no real moisture. We will see some high clouds in the mix but this dry slot stretches from the southwest to northeast right over our area. Winds will remain light but it will be cool so plan on layers.

Temperatures: Lows dropped to 8 for CB and 12 for Gunni. Highs will look like yesterday at 36 for CB and 41 for Gunni. Lows tonight will be about the same.

Outlook: Our dry slot between these northern and southern systems closes as yet another trough moves into the northwest and moves over our area by Tuesday. The dynamics for this trough are good but lack any real moisture so snow will be limited with the classic 2-4 for CB and 1-3 for Gunni. Highs will drop significantly Tuesday but then bounce again Wednesday with the week starting below normal only to close 5-10 degrees above with a string of sunny days.

11/16: INCREASING CLOUDS AND COLD.
TV10 Crested Butte and Gunnison Valley Daily Weather Update- For 11/16: This latest trough has developed about as expected elongating down to northern Mexico as it stretches north to south. Any moisture is getting sucked out as it crosses UT and the desert southwest so snow will be limited or nonexistent. We will see the cold with highs today dropping by 10+ degrees with some wind that will make you glad for layers. Get out earlier for the sun.

Temperatures: Lows were milder at 16 for Gunni and 15 for CB. Highs will top out early at 34 for CB and 40 for Gunni but will cool into the afternoon. Lows tonight will be in the low teens or single digits if we clear.

Outlook: This elongated trough cuts off to the south and moves east with us in the dry slot between waves for Sunday and most of Monday. It will stay chilly but sunny. Monday night we see another moisture starved trough move in that will offer snow showers through Tuesday with skies clearing again Wednesday teeing up a few sunny days to close the week.

11/14: POPPING TEMPERATURES.
TV10 Crested Butte and Gunnison Valley Daily Weather Update- For 11/14: We are into this dry slot between western troughs and clear skies will hold but we will also start to see a milder southwestern flow. This will push daytime highs up by 5+ degrees but also expect some winds and a huge temperature shift that will make you glad for layers.

Temperatures: Lows dropped thanks to the snow cover reaching 6 for CB and 14 for Gunni. Highs will top out at 41 for CB and 48 for Gunni. Lows tonight will be slightly warmer.

Outlook: We are looking at an unorganized mix into the weekend with the pattern shifting from the southwest as a moisture starved trough pushes in colder air. Friday will be a day of transition with sunny skies and mild temperatures but also high gusting winds. This trough splits leaving an unorganized mix with snow showers and sun Saturday with cold dry conditions Sunday ahead of another weak system Monday that will last into Tuesday. Cold will be the consistent feature with moisture a rarer ingredient.

11/13: BLUE SKIES AND FRESH SNOW.
TV10 Crested Butte and Gunnison Valley Daily Weather Update- For 11/13: Skies cleared overnight leaving us with fresh snow on the ground and sunny skies. Look for clear skies to remain the trend with temperatures rebounding through the day creating some sloppy conditions as roads melt.

Temperatures: Lows dropped to 3 for CB with the clear skies and new snow but held to 19 for Gunni. Highs will rebound with the sun to 39 for CB and 45 for Gunni. Lows tonight will be cold again with no changes.

Outlook: We are in the dry sunny gap between waves through Friday with temperatures on a steady climb peaking Friday as the trough drops in from the northwest. Models are moving towards keeping this to the north with limited effects for Gunni Saturday but the northend of the valley will see at least snow showers. This could change as the pattern develops but we will see colder temperatures by the weekend so enjoy milder conditions through the end of the week.

Good evening Highway 135 travelers! Tomorrow morning, Wednesday November 13, 2024, we’ll be moving our bulls down the road for a little bit. Look for us in the Jack’s Cabin Valley, between mile marker 16 and 17. Hopefully, we will be on the road by 8:30 and out of your way by 9:30. We are planning to make 1 trip….but, bulls don’t always gather up and get along as well as cows. If things go sideways with these boys (and they might) we might be on the road later, or longer, or twice tomorrow. Basically, heads up y’all. As always, slow down, be safe, and enjoy the ride!
