This song “Worth It” by @colbiecaillat is so good and relatable (I believe it’s about breakup /heartbreak). I love the line that says “I know it isn’t/wasn’t perfect, but loving you is worth it”. ❤️ . This speaks to me on a marriage level and also a “loving me” level. Not many years ago, my husband @mattmeddock and I almost walked away from a (now) 10 1/2 year marriage. We had fought hard for a couple years to get through the heartbreak of where we were, but the pain of the slow progress was too much for me (I’m happy to report that we ARE still married. It isn’t perfect, but we are both CHOOSING to work at our relationship and ourselves, DAILY🫶🏼) . Sometimes (and I am very guilty of this), we want perfection in our relationship, with our bodies, how our kids perform in sports or school. Reality is that we might literally kill our selves for perfection before ever attaining it. When it comes to our bodies, there will always be something that we can find in ourselves to tighten tone smooth and the list goes on … but loving our bodies right now, finding outifts that we feel good in and highlight areas that we love right now, this is attainable. The rest is simply progress, daily efforts, goals or plans to help get us where we want to go. Really, our body love and health is a lot like a marriage (more on marriage stuff later ☺️) . I’ve shared a couple bathing suits from @beachriot the last week, and I’ll say it again, that I’ve been so impressed with the quality of their suits and the way they support and accentuate all the right spots! . When I tell you that I feel insecure in a bathing suit more often than not, do you relate? If we truly ask ourselves, “how do I feel in this bathing suit”, what is our answer??? . If you’ve ever felt less than, not pretty enough, too jiggly in some areas… please know that YOUR NOT ALONE. I struggle with this daily. . If you read a previous post (the one where I’m in a brown dress and straw hat, in the garden), you’ll read that I have a very active thought life. This can pour over into good and it can pour over into not so good. . The truth is that there is always room for improvement or finding better ways to take care of ourselves, it’s part of our journey as humans. But I want to challenge you and me, to think something positive and life giving the next time we put on a bathing suit or date night outfit, or shoot, when we go to the grocery store in our sweats. Let’s replace the negative talk and negative though life, one tiny step at a time, Amen!? . And MOMS of DAUGHTERS, this is even more valuable because not only are you changing a pattern in your life, you will be modeling a PATTERN for her life! 🫶🏼🤍🌸 .
