It has been hard coming up with words to describe the loss we at ANGST have. We will deeply miss one of the inspirations of some of the songs that were written by Gilbert Briones. Mama B helped in every show that Family Tradition Productions had. She would help cook for our touring bands and she always went out of her way to make sure everyone had a great time. She touched hearts and changed the lives of everyone she met, and we all loved and adored her. We at ANGST will be praying for the Briones family because Gilbert and Mama B ARE family, and are loved. Thank you for always supporting us and the music scene. Daniel Perez and Jennifer Alfano from FTP.

Oralia Gutierrez Briones
February 21, 1949 – September 9, 2024

It is with the deepest sorrow and most shattered hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Oralia Gutierrez Briones, who at the age of 75, was called home to be with our Lord in Heaven on September 9, 2024,. She was born into humble beginnings in Robstown, Texas, on February 21, 1949, Oralia was the treasured daughter of Sotero and Tomasita Garcia Gutierrez, who now joyfully welcome her into Heaven. Oralia’s life journey was one of quiet strength, devotion, and unwavering love. Though Oralia’s hands were often busy cooking for others, her heart was forever full of love for her family and friends. She poured herself into every meal, not just nourishing bodies, but feeding souls with the warmth of her spirit; her laughter echoed through the years, her voice a comforting melody to those who knew her best. Oralia’s love for music, her passion for concerts, and her joy in spending time with those she held dearest made her a radiant light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. As a mother, she was a constant source of strength, guiding her children through life with wisdom and tenderness. As a sister, she was a confidant, always ready with an open heart and a listening ear. As a grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, she gave more love than one heart could possibly hold, wrapping each child in the embrace of her unconditional care. And as a friend, Oralia was loyal, steadfast, and truly a gentle soul who left an indelible mark on everyone she met.

She goes home to our Lord in heaven to reunite with her parents, Sotero and Tomasita Gutierrez; her beloved husband Daniel V. Briones, her siblings Carmen Caldwell, Angelina Cruz, Sotero Gutierrez, Luis Gutierrez, and her precious great-grandson, Athaniel Lee Villarreal. It is a bittersweet comfort to know that they are now together again, holding her in the warmth of their arms, their laughter filling the halls of Heaven as they rejoice in their reunion.

Yet, despite this heavenly gathering, the loss she leaves behind is almost too much to bear; as the aching void in the hearts of her children, Gilbert Daniel Briones, Lisa Lynn Salazar, John Manuel Briones, and James Michael Briones that cannot be filled; her sisters, Maria (Jose) Elvira Zapata and Maria (Natividad) Angelica Leal, will forever long for the closeness they shared, the sisterhood that defined so much of their lives. She was also blessed and adored by her four grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren that will grow with only the memory of her love to guide them, always feeling the absence of her warmth. Oralia’s memory will live on in the hearts of her family, her many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends who now must face the world without the steady beacon of her love. We are left behind to cherish her memory, to hold on to the fragments of her laughter, and to carry her spirit with us every day.

The family of Oralia Gutierrez Briones invites all who loved her to come together and celebrate her remarkable life on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM with an Evening Service to be held at 7:00 PM that same evening at Ramon Funeral Home in Robstown, Texas.

Though our hearts are broken, we find solace in knowing that she is now at peace, surrounded by those who went before her, but until we meet again, we will miss her with every breath, every heartbeat, and every moment that passes. Your love will never fade, and your memory will forever be our guiding light.
