Teen Went Shopping for an Anniversary Gift by Herself. A Predator Was Lurking in the Parking Lot

In 2007, Kelsey Smith’s life was tragically cut short at just 18 years old. She was kidnapped from a Target parking lot and later found in Missouri, after a determined search led by her loved ones and law enforcement. The investigation revealed her abductor, Edwin Hall, who was sentenced to life in prison for his horrific crimes. Kelsey’s family has since channeled their grief into the Kelsey Smith Foundation, empowering communities to protect youth. Her legacy also lives on through the Kelsey Smith Act, ensuring quicker access to cell phone data in emergencies. Let’s honor Kelsey by remembering her story and supporting the fight for justice and safety.
