Instagram is making update to the way that it ranks content, in order to put more focus on original work.

As per Adam Mosseri:

“If you create something from scratch, you should get more credit than if you are resharing something that you found from someone else. [As such] we’re going to do more to try and value original content more, particularly compared to reposted content.”

The change could have various impacts - here's a look at how Instagram's looking to roll out the update.

As we come out of the COVID fog, brands and marketers need to be ready for the new (online) day that is already upon us. Are you ready?

“Marketers should begin the process now of carefully examining their messaging and platforms as they prepare for the swarm of activity ahead. Expect digital traffic to continue to rise, even as consumers return to brick-and-mortar retail. Once a customer sees the benefits of ordering online for delivery and pickup, why would they go back to tedious shopping?
