Sponsored an event. His booth was next to mine—coffee cups, keychains, banner, QR code. Retail Checks and Balances podcast. Dude’s on fire because he gets it. He sees the macro. Not just “what’s in it for me,” but “what else is possible?”

He’s winning because he’s committed. And I’m committed too—especially to holding people accountable.

Because this ain’t just business. We build relationships. We do life together.

And honestly? There’s no better way to build real relationships than with a podcast.

How The Podcast Launch Lab Uses Sebastian Rusk’s Guest Leverage Strategy to Drive Growth

Launching a podcast is an exciting venture for many entrepreneurs and business owners. However, the harsh reality is that most podcasters never see a direct return on their investment. They spend months recording episodes, inviting guests, and posting on social media, only to find their download numbers growing without any real business impact.

According to Sebastian Rusk, founder of Podcast Launch Lab, the problem isn’t the podcast itself—it’s the lack of a clear business strategy behind it. To solve this, Sebastian developed the Guest Leverage Strategy, a proven system that transforms podcast conversations into real clients, collaborations, and high-value business opportunities.

In this article, we’ll explore how the Guest Leverage Strategy works and why it’s the missing link for entrepreneurs who want their podcasts to drive revenue, not just downloads.

It all started with a podcast...

Back in 2013 I launched my first “online radio show” via BlogTalkRadio. That platform worked for some time, but having to do the show “live” every day became very time consuming. In addition, at times the BlogTalkRadio platform would fail me miserably, especially in times of need, and usually when I had a popular guest on.

It was then I learned that you should never depend on a “new” technology when looking to create consistent, valuable content because things change and like me, you could be left holding the bag.

After a 2-3-year hiatus, a new technology came on the scene and it was THE DEAL, it was called “Blab” it was awesome because it allowed you to host a “LIVE” video show via livestream and have guests join you in different video chat windows for what was an all-around highly engaging experience. Well, that was until Blab flopped and folded and the platform was no longer. So once again I found myself out of the podcast space due to the failure of some company I really had nothing to do with. I learned right then and there not to depend on software(s) that I couldn’t control and people I didn’t really know to dictate my success with a podcast.

Late last year but I decided that I was was going to relaunch my show, for the 3rd time. This time I was going to control the entire process from A-Z.
