University of Miami Department of Classics The nation's youngest classics department now offers both the major and the minor in classics!

Housed in the Ashe Administration Building, in the heart of the Gables Campus of UM, the Department of Classics welcomes participation from all members and friends of the University interested in all aspects of ancient Mediterranean civilizations. We have a world-class faculty of gifted scholar-teachers who (in addition to their vigorous publishing agendas) offer topnotch instruction in the languages, literatures, and cultures of ancient Greece and Rome.
