We decided it was best to do thanksgiving in our house early today and what better way than a thanksgiving brunch. We had ham, deviled eggs, hash browns with sausage gravy, and crescent rolls. Thank you Brenda Brown for the pot holders!!!

Hello my peeps sorry for absence lately but my time has been to its limits and I’ve had to put this on the back burner for a bit. I haven’t had time to come up with new exciting recipes let alone film and edit. Hoping to get back on track soon, miss y’all and appreciate your patience and understanding!!!

I did some foraging this weekend!!! I got lobsters, chanterelles, pines (matzutake), oysters, and a little bit of a whole lotta chicken of the woods. I estimate it to be at least 200 lbs.

Sorry I haven’t posted much lately I’ve been really busy with work and chasing salmon when I get a chance and just haven’t had time for much more than quick simple dinners let alone video and editing… trying to get stuff done so I have more time. I really miss interacting with everyone but sometimes you gotta put things on a back burner for a minute. I appreciate y’all!!!

Used my 14” flat for more than a serving tray finally and it made an amazing pizza. Well it made my amazing pizza perfect. lol. I used pizza dough yeast and the recipe on the package to make the dough it was really good, crispy on the bottom, spongy in the middle, and just a little gooey on top like a pizza crust should be. Best pizza I’ve had in a long time. I did use a store bought sauce but it’s my favorite I keep around for what we call pizzadillas, which is sauce on a tortilla with cheese and pepperoni folded and cooked like a quesadilla. It’s something my daughter Elena can make herself and they’re pretty good too for quick and easy snack.

Last nights dinner, sweet and spicy chicken with corn on the cob cooked on the Webber, with some box noodle (not shown). It was delicious. Learning how to cook with the indirect heat method using charcoal is challenging but it can be so rewarding with some of the best food you’ve ever eaten!!!

Thank you Basin Tackle Online for the blue fin tuna, I made sashimi, and poke bowls with it for my family, there was 9 of us who got to enjoy it and we are all very thankful generosity. I also made grilled chicken thighs on the BBQ to top off the fried rice with homemade teriyaki, lobster rolls, and crab puffs to go with it. And thank you Kayla Kayla for catching it!!! You 2 are amazing and I love how you share with people who otherwise would not get to enjoy it!!! I hope you find your way of enjoying what’s left of that beautiful fish and again I cannot thank you enough.

I went to the river and caught some fresh crawdads then came home and I made gumbo for my first time tonight and it was delicious. It’s bit of a complex recipe and I had a house full as well so video was kinda not an option but I did take some pics to share with y’all. Next time though I’ll get video, now that I know how I’ll be able to share it easier. It had my homemade sausage, plus Cajun sausage, shrimp, chicken, crawdads, green and red peppers, onion, parsley and my first ever dark rue which turned out perfectly. Coming from the one person (Ryan Brown) who had tried gumbo before it was on point and I nailed it. Thank you everyone else who let me experiment on them. Sierra, Ray, Krystle, Tever, Kayla, and Bryson.

Half the family wanted regular corn bread, the other half wanted cheddar jalapeño so improvised a compromise with some parchment paper and saved myself some dishes. I mixed the cornbread normal and put half in one side, then added shredded cheddar and jalapeno pieces to the other half, poured that into the other side and added sliced jalapeno on top. To go with it I made homemade Mac n cheese and added 2 jars of the chili I made in a previous video and viola Chili Mac. It was so good!!! Didn’t have time for video but I took pics so I could share it with you. Especially the parchment hack, I thought that was pretty cool and worked great. Thank you everyone and go get your grub on!!!
