WCTE, The Upper Cumberland’s Public Television Station, has been a special part of our region for nearly thirty years. Originally located on the campus of Tennessee Technological University, it was founded in 1978 as a multi-faceted, community-based educational and public service communications reso

urce that is owned and operated by the Upper Cumberland Broadcast Council. The station has since moved its headquarters to a historical building in downtown Cookeville. WCTE continues to be the only locally originating open-circuit television station within a seventy mile radius of Cookeville, TN and is one of only 350 PBS member stations nationwide. Original, locally produced programming and community outreach continue to be at the core of WCTE’s mission to serve this region. Positioned to enter the digital era, WCTE will continue to grow!

🌟 There's still time to nominate a neighbor for WCTE's Upper Cumberland Neighbor of the Year Award, to be presented at our Be My Neighbor Annual Dinner on March 27th. This award celebrates individuals who embody the values of kindness, understanding, and community that Mister Rogers shared with the world.

📍 Nominees must be full-time residents within the 14 counties of the Upper Cumberland region.
🗓 Nominations are open thru February 17.
There’s no limit to the number of nominations you can submit!
