Here is the latest we know about the Cookeville Community Cares Emergency Warming Shelter:

The shelter will open for guests tomorrow, Friday, January 3 at 3pm.
The location is at the Cookeville Community Center's back space by the pool. The address is 240 Carlen Drive and parking and entrance is at the rear of the building, not the front entrance.

We need help. Needs we have are:

Volunteers. Due to the configuration of the space, we anticipate needing significantly more volunteers this time. To volunteer, please use this link to sign up: https://signup.com/client/invitation2/secure/332061362038/false #/invitation

Church and community leaders, will you help us by actively sharing with your members that we need volunteers?

Financial support to purchase necessities. There is a contribution button on the volunteer sign-up link.

Space Heaters. This area of the building is not adequately heated and if you could let us borrow any safe and working space heaters, that would be a blessing.

27 Gallon storage totes, the black ones with yellow lids.

Soups and Stews, preferably in gallon ziplock bags that we can easily pour into crock pots or freeze. Casseroles, BBQ, Lasagnas, etc are great too.

Cases of water and assorted soft drinks, juices and such.

Warm clothing items like coats, gloves, socks, men's & women's underwear, warm boots or shoes.
