The slanders against the Liberia Music Awards is extremely harmful. At best, it undermines the accomplishments of the nominees that continue to work day in and day out to uplift and promote the beauty and culture of our beloved nation through the art of music. It further undermines the efforts of our fellow countrymen and women at the MLMA that are working tirelessly to ensure the sustained success of the most established award platform in our young industry.

At worst, the slanders illustrate the disease of hate for one’s own country and culture that has plagued the growth and unification of our nation for as long as I can remember. The world is watching! If we continue to defame and undermine our own, how can we expect the rest of the world to celebrate us?

We can do much better than slanderous social media posts that does more harm than good. Let’s professionally voice our concerns in ways that will yield the results we seek.

Remember, what you see as a problem, can also be seen as an opportunity! Opportunity Changes Everything. Go be great.
