Torcon WX Team This is the official TORCON Weather Team Headquarters Page, based in Columbus OH.

With our regional offices Torcon is dedicated to saving lives by working to increase severe weather warning times and through our Community Outreach & Educational Programs. TORCON Weather Team: Protecting Communities Through Passion and Expertise

The TORCON Weather Team is your one-stop shop for all things weather across the USA. We are a passionate group of meteorologists, forecasters, weather

spotters, and weather enthusiasts united by a common mission: to save lives.

24/7 Monitoring and Real-Time Alerts

Our network of weather centers, professional meteorologists, and trained observers keeps a watchful eye on the skies across the nation, 24/7/365. When severe weather threatens, we issue timely advisories and alerts through our social media channels, ensuring our communities are informed and prepared. Boots on the Ground: Storm Chasing and Data Collection

When severe weather strikes, our dedicated chase teams deploy to the affected areas. They witness the "tale tell signs" of severe weather firsthand and provide critical real-time data directly to the National Weather Service. This data plays a vital role in refining weather forecasting models and keeping communities safe. Education is Key: COSWET and HWAP Programs

TORCON believes that education is a powerful tool in weather preparedness. Through our Community Outreach Severe Weather Educational Training (COSWET) program, we offer online and in-person classes to educate communities about severe weather safety. Additionally, the Homeless Weather Alert Program (HWAP) equips homeless individuals with life-saving NOAA weather radios and works with local emergency managers to establish shelters during severe weather events. TORCON: Volunteer-Driven and Committed to Growth

Our ever-expanding team is 100% volunteer-driven, and we welcome anyone who shares our passion for weather safety. We offer a robust training program (STEP) to develop the next generation of storm chasers and weather spotters. In 2024, we even established our own Search and Rescue Team (TSAR) to further support our communities.

Red Flag Warning..CRITICAL FIRE DANGER TUESDAY FOR LOWLANDS OF SOUTHERN NEW
MEXICO...
An upper level system will push through the region Tuesday,
bringing breezy to windy conditions. 20 foot wind speeds of 20 to
30 mph are expected Tuesday afternoon from the west-southwest
with gusts to 40 mph. Due to the lack of recent precipitation
over the past couple months, ERC values are near record levels
for this time of year. Minimum relative humidities of 10 to
15 percent are forecast Tuesday. The combination of strong winds,
low humidity, and dry fuels result in critical fire weather
conditions Tuesday afternoon and early evening.

The National Weather Service in El Paso Tx/Santa Teresa has
issued a Red Flag Warning, which is in effect from noon to 7 PM
MST Tuesday. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect.

* WIND... West to southwest winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 40
mph.

* HUMIDITY...10 to 15 percent.

* EXPERIMENTAL RFTI...4 to 6 on the scale of 0 to 10.

* HIGHEST THREAT...is located along and west of the Rio Grande
Valley after 2 PM.

* IMPACTS...any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
Outdoor burning is not recommended.
