Efua Amissah-Aggrey has been a dynamic curator even though this is her first show. I am honored to be in the space and can’t wait for you all to see the full vision this Saturday and all month at 700 Bryden.

October 29th was World Stroke Day, and there is so much we can do to make a difference and become more preventative and aware of the signs of a stroke in real time.

Me and a few of my favorite friends are on a mission to bring awareness, opportunities for access to resources and information, some connection and education opportunities, and of course fundraise just a little bit.

With a laundry list of anti-LGBTQ+ bills piling up in the Ohio statehouse and some employers dropping corporate DEI initiatives, are efforts to safeguard and grow LGBTQ+ rights losing ground in Ohio? Polling research announced earlier this year by nonpartisan Public Religion Research Institute also disturbingly showed US public support for LGBTQ+ protections falling for first time since 2015, illustrating the dangers of taking newly won freedoms for granted. With a panel of experts, we take stock of the state and trajectory of LGBTQ+ rights in Ohio and look at what the post-election environment may hold in store for LGBTQ+ Ohioans and their families.

Hello Community,

I have been nominated by Beth griffin as a Leader of Impact for the American Heart Association, Columbus chapter. Along with the incredible support of Dawn Blevins Blevins, my team will be increasing awareness and raising funds for AHA from October 7th-December 4th, 2024.

I have so many reasons to accept this nomination as Heart Disease and Heart attacks have complicated life and also taken life from some of my favorite family and friends. I’ll tell you more about that later.

Of course, I am not doing this alone, I have a team! Today’s ask is for community members that want to be a part of my team and didn’t know about this before right now to let me know. We will have a call this Thursday (10/10) to get you up to date with all the info you will need to participate.

I have several reasons to say yes. If you read this and have several reasons to say yes, want to get involved with some incredible community members and be part of a team (my current team is already amazing) and are connected to Columbus in any way, message me to get on board. There’s no cap to my team number, so let’s have some fun!

Happy Monday!

I have a very specific reason why I can be very authentic with that happy Monday this week. I am often told how grounded, soothing, and safe I am as a person. I am revealing my ‘secret’: the practice of Polarity. I have been deepening into my understanding of what it means to be connected to the Life inside of me since 2018.

I had the honor of attending a somatic (attending to the body) Polarity course this weekend with Suzanne B. Roberts and their teaching team. As we discussed our connection and longing for Polarity, every answer is different, but it all comes back to the main principles: Life is a dynamic tension between two poles and we need tools to access our soul’s longing to know itself. It’s easy to forget we are all connected. It is more important now than ever to remember we are all interconnected and interdependent with each other.

Suzanne was on an episode of The Culture of You Podcast with me last year, explaining Polarity as best they could. Check out this 5 minute clip that will help put this in context. If this posts makes you curious about how these Polarity practices can support your nervous system professionally and personally, reach out to me with questions, I’m happy to discuss.

I truly would love for everyone to have access to Polarity principles simply for bettering how we interact with each other. Polarity is weaved into my very being, my interaction with others, and my work. So if you have interacted with me and noted how I can be so calm, grounded, connected, and yet, still creative and innovative, thank Polarity and Suzanne, cause it is often rough terrain inside my brain.

2 weeks ago I had the pleasure and privilege of working with United Way of Central Ohio’s entire team for their DEI and Culture Retreat.

I worked with Kourtni M. Hatton, SHRM-CP and Reyna Hughes to curate and tailor the perfect opening hour and fifteen minutes for everyone. We brought social identities into the room and got vulnerable with each other around what identities occupy our brain space the most. We discussed Adaptive Strategies and empowered choice about how we regulate and show up. We grounded together and aligned on group agreements that would govern their time together.

As we moved through the hour and fifteen minutes, people moved from anxious, rushed, hesitant, and nervous to calm, grounded, restful, ready, inspired and hopeful. At that point Partnership4Success came in to work with the team for the rest of the day and started from a very grounded place collectively. We call this ‘preparing the field’.

Thank you for your collaboration and trust in me with your team Kourtni and Reyna. And thank you for the opportunity Lisa Courtice. It is always a pleasure to work with you and your team. I definitely felt hopeful and inspired as I left. I look forward to all the good you all will continue to do with and for Central Ohio.
