I saw Jacob Collier in Cleveland last night, and it was a great show, but when asked if it was in my top 10 I had to say no. Here’s a list of the top 10 shows that I’ve seen so far. Yes I know there’s more than 10 here but these were all at a significant level better than the rest. Not in any order other than the last one listed:

- Bobby McFerrin solo show Ohio Theater
- Earth Wind and Fire at the Ohio State Fair 1977 for free
- Chick corea and Herbie Hancock piano duo.
- Chick corea and Gary Burton duo at Mershon
- Pat Metheny Band Off-ramp tour 1981
- Alvin Valentine Band with Joe Crump, Jimmy Hammonds, and the original Jimmy McGee at My Brothers Place 1991
- Best show I’ve seen so far: Bulgarian State Women’s Radio Choir at Merhson, first international tour after the Soviet breakup 1992
