This rally is a key part of a larger, globally coordinated movement united under a common cause to amplify its impact. The ultimate goal is to bring this broader initiative to the attention of Indian Embassies, consulates, the Prime Minister's Office, and the President of India.

Let us all unite in demand of JUSTICE for our Abhaya
One of the blackest days of our lives as a Bengali, Indian and a citizen of this Blue Planet was 9th August 2024. The monstrosity of the worst imaginable crime shook our very being and corroded our conscience. A trainee female doctor was r***d, tortured and murdered in the most gruesome way in R G Kar, a government hospital in Kolkata, whilst on duty. It's unfathomable that such a deplorable and heinous crime could occur in an institution of learning, healing and hope.

This deeply tragic and horrifying incident, highlights the urgent need for systemic change to ensure the safety and security of women in Kolkata and all over India. We, Indians all over the planet call for justice and demand for transparency, accountability, and reform in the administrative, judiciary and law enforcement systems. It’s crucial for communities globally to unite and advocate for justice, women’s rights & safety, and societal changes that protect the vulnerable and hold perpetrators accountable.

On 8th September a coordinated effort for a peace protest will be conducted by Global Indians in 50+ cities in 7+ countries. This global protest and solidarity of Indians across cities underscore the collective strength in seeking justice and fostering a safer, more equitable India. We would like the President and the Prime Minister to hear us and bring about the much needed change. Right Now.

Please let's Come Together on September 8th, 9 am at Liberty Park.

বাংলাদেশে চলমান কোটা আন্দোলনের প্রতি কলম্বাস প্রবাসীদের সমর্থন

ওহাইও সংবাদ : বাংলাদেশের চলমান কোটা আন্দোলন এবং সহিংসতার ঘটনায় যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের ওহাইও অঙ্গ রাজ্যের কলম্বাস শহরের প্রবাসীরা গভীর উদ্বেগ প্রকাশ করে এই আন্দোলনের প্রতি সমর্থন জানিয়েছেন।
কলম্বাসের সচেতন নাগরিক সমাজ ও ওহাইও স্টেট ইউনিভার্সিটির ছাত্র সংগঠন একাত্মতা হয়ে রবিবার (২০ জুন) দুপুর ১২টায় কলম্বাস স্টেট হাউজের সামনে আয়োজিত সমাবেশ ও মানববন্ধন থেকে কোটা আন্দোলনের প্রতি সমর্থন জানান প্রবাসী বাংলাদেশীরা। সমাবেশ থেকে তীব্র নিন্দা ও প্রতিবাদ জানানো হয় নিহতের ঘটনায়। প্রায় এক ঘন্টাব্যাপী অনুষ্ঠিত এই মানববন্ধনে প্রবাসীর বাংলাদেশের সাধারণ ছাত্র-ছাত্রীদের উপর নির্যাতন এবং নিহতের ঘটনায় তীব্র নিন্দা ও প্রতিবাদ জানান।
উল্লেখ্য, ১৯৮৫ সালের কোটা পদ্ধতি অনুসরণ করে চলছে দেশের সরকারি চাকুরির নিয়োগের ক্ষেত্রে কোটা পদ্ধতি। মুক্তিযোদ্ধা জেলা কোঠা এবং প্রতিবন্ধী কোটা বাদে সাধারণ শিক্ষার্থীরা শতকরা ৪৬ ভাগ সরকারী চাকুরির সুযোগ পাচ্ছেন। এ নিয়ে বিগত কয়েক বছর ধরে কোটা বিরোধী আন্দোলন চলে আসলেও হয়নি কোন সুরাহা। বরং আদালত পর্যন্ত গড়িয়েছে বিষয়টি। দেশবাসীর মতো প্রবাসী বাংলাদেশীরাও কোটা সমস্যার যৌক্তিক সমাধান কামনা করছেন।
