**UPDATE**

I-65 South bound at exit 228 is now back open.

I-65 Southbound is shut down at exit 228 in Calera while Chilton County LE and ALEA investigate a traffic fatality in Chilton County. Traffic is being detoured onto 31 South.

This will no doubt cause serious delays as we approach school and work rush hour. We will post updates as soon as we get them.

Not sure it will help but we are calling the railroad to advise them of the traffic situation at 25 and 31. This certainly points out our need for the bridge on 25.

Overturned 18 wheeler on I-65 southbound between the 231 (Highway 31) and the 234 (Shelby County Airport) exit.

All southbound lanes are currently blocked.

Freezing Fog advisory through 9am this morning.

Freezing Fog and Dense Fog Advisories have been issued for the entire area through 9 AM CT to account for limited visibilities. Driving could be dangerous. Slow down and allow plenty of time to get to your destination this morning. In the area with the Freezing Fog Advisory, there could be slick spots on bridges and overpasses.
