đ Bessie Coleman: A Legacy That Soars Beyond Boundaries âď¸
Bessie Coleman wasnât just the first Black and Native American woman to earn a pilotâs licenseâshe was a force of determination, breaking barriers in a world that told her "no" at every turn. Denied entry to U.S. flight schools because of her race and gender, she learned French, moved to France, and became a pilot on her own terms. She refused to perform air shows where audiences were segregated, proving that representation and equality mattered just as much as her skill in the sky.
Her story isnât just about aviationâitâs about overcoming every limitation placed before you.
For me, Bessieâs journey is a powerful reminder to follow my own path, no matter the obstacles. She showed me that excellence isnât an optionâitâs a necessity. Like her, Iâve learned that I have to be twice as good, work twice as hard, and that the first hurdle to success is defining my own determination.
Her wings werenât just for herâthey lifted us all. đď¸
