☔️ The forecast tonight looks like RAIN — so our July THIRD THURSDAY events in downtown Columbia City this evening are moving INDOORS. ☔️
🎨 - The Art Alley is moving inside The Clugston, 108 South Chauncey Street.
🎤 - Open Mic & Spoken Word activities are moving inside Chapman’s, 118 West Van Buren Street.
All events will be open from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. as previously planned.

We regret to inform you that the JA Whitley County Car Show scheduled for August 5th, 2023, has been canceled. Despite our efforts to accommodate participants and the community with a new location, we have received only 5 registrations. Unfortunately, without sufficient participation, the board has made the difficult decision to cancel the event for this year. We appreciate your past attendance and support and hope to see you at future Junior Achievement events.

Stay tuned for an exciting NEW event we have planned that we are very excited about!

Last night at the Board of Works Meeting, we set the Halloween Trick or Treat date/timeframe.
Yes, I know it is really early, but we like to give other organizations a chance to plan their events around our community's trick or treat hours. Happy Haunting! 🧟‍♀️🎃👻

For over a century part of the Old Settlers' Day celebration has been annually recognizing two honorary residents, the 𝐋𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐖𝐡𝐢𝐭𝐥𝐞𝐲 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐲 and the 𝐎𝐥𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐖𝐡𝐢𝐭𝐥𝐞𝐲 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐲.

Registration this year will be Thursday, June 22nd, from 10:00-2:00 at the Whitley County Historical Museum , 108 N Jefferson St. All ages are welcome and encouraged to register.

In years past those residents were presented with and engraved trophy, fondly called the “Loving Cups” for this distinguished milestone. The presentation of these cups date as far back as 𝟏𝟗𝟎𝟒 and were very coveted amongst those who visited Old Settlers to record their name in their township of residence.
In more recent years the cups were discontinued and recipients were given an engraved plaque. A new tradition will begin in 2022 as those who achieve these still much coveted awards as the Longest Continuous Resident and the Oldest Resident will have their names engraved on a perpetual memorial plague that will be on display at the Whitley County Museum.
