At the laying of the first cornerstone of the Carnegie Hall 1890, Andrew Carnegie said, “All good causes may here find a platform”. This resounding statement found its veracity in 1961 when the Southern Leadership Conference, under the distinguished leadership of Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., orchestrated a benefit concert.
