Rick Christian – Founder and President
Rick is the founder and CEO of Alive Communications and has been one of the nation’s most prominent and successful literary agents for some 25 years. More than a dozen books represented by Alive have reached the #1 spot on the New York Times bestseller list, with many dozens of titles a year appearing on this and other prestigious lists, including USA Today, Publisher’s Weekly, The Wall Street Journal, Amazon, Barnes & Noble and more. Combined sales of books negotiated by Alive agents exceed 150 million copies, with several dozen of their authors and titles having sold more than one million copies each. Alive Communications and Bondfire Books agents are known by the company they keep. They work with the top authors, publishers, producers and film studios in the United States and around the world, and have earned widespread acclaim as Agents of Change. A graduate of Stanford University, Rick is a great friend of authors and a leading visionary in the publishing industry. With a life-long passion for words and great writing, he started his career as a newspaper boy in San Diego. Fast-forwarding a few years, he became a newspaper reporter and columnist in California, then moved to the Midwest as a magazine editor, and later circled back West to launch a publishing company, writing several books himself along the way. He discovered his passion as an indefatigable advocate of authors with his launch of Alive Communications in 1989. Bondfire Books is his next Big Thing. Rick and his wife Debbie have a blended family of seven children and live on a ranch outside of Colorado Springs. He pursues wild things in the mountains in his free time.
