I'm here to announce... THAT I AM OFFICIALLY AN AUDIO ENGINEER FOR ENGINEEARS, A PLATFORM CREATED BY DEREK ALI!!!

If you aren't familiar, Derek 'Mixed By Ali' has been the mind behind many notable artists, namely, Kendrick Lamar!

So, now that I'm officially living my dreams, I'd like to share and bless the recording artists and producers I know!

Woke up feeling very thankful.

If you been rocking with me for a while, you know I came up out of the trench for this music.

I made a lot happen out of nothing. At a point I was jobless. Playing drums and recording in a One-Bed, sleeping on the couch, running around Omaha turning up shows.
•
I been a soldier for this creative life. It takes a lot to choose this every day, but when I look back…. SHEEESH. I’m HEEM. But, I really couldn’t have made it without DUMB support.
•
So, shouts to… and the lil bro . So many more, but I don’t wanna go the longest yard. Y’all know what it is.

Can’t cap… the world ain’t ready for the way Omaha did build me up.

So when you hear these records I’m putting out, think about this:

I’m sitting on the floor cause my household goods haven’t arrived yet, but that’s not stopping me from doing the edits, levels, pans, and fades.

Im still right here with the craft. Regardless. It’s been one heck of a journey, but I’m looking at the road and… boy… I can feel it coming.

I hear it in my Sonics, feel it in my heart rate, see it in my vision, so clearly.

I always tell myself… “Step away for a minute cause the journey is a marathon.”

I was supposed to be making an omelette, but we came up with scrambled eggs 🍳.

Drumming isn’t hard to me because I’m passionate about it. How it feels. What it makes me feel and think.

If you asked me how many times I set up a mobile studio…. I’d tell you it’s always been mobile.
•
Look. I was 23-24 producing an album on a 2014 MacBook Air, towing mics, cables, and hard drives to glass warehouses, random folks attics, basements… you name it, and it HIT! The “GRIND” is beautiful to me.
•
The lights, the theatrics, studio couches, and soundproof walls? That’s gonna be greater later, because after almost 6 years of moving and joooging for this music… I’m still happy and growing!
•
Let’s make a toast to tasting the dirt as we continue to take in the air of a new day!
•

Today I went live on Facebook and played my drums!

Let me be the first to tell you, it was a little nerve racking and I definitely had some “practice” moments!
•
BUT LOOK!
•
It was crazy freeing! There’s nothing to hide! I shared an inside look at the “GRIND” and honestly, I had a ton of fun!
•
There’s something beautiful about the ugly parts of this creative journey. I am at peace recognizing, there’s nothing to hide and…. I’m pretty damn awesome!
