Walla Walla University is proposing a Center for Media Ministry with a Masters Degree in Media Ministry. Center's Vision:
To be the Seventh-day Adventist hub where students, educators, leaders, and organizations find insight and training related to the effective use of mediated communication for Biblical ministry. Center's Mission:
To build God’s kingdom by inspiring creativity, innovation, and ex

cellence in media endeavors; to foster critical thinking and creative methods in presenting Biblical themes to today’s culture in modern language; and to cultivate the development and use of research methods in media and ministry. We need your help to determine whether such a program is feasible, whether there is an interest in such a program, and how best to deliver that program. Filmmaker Kevin Ekvall talks about finding the Christian narrative in mainstream and classic films, as well as the change in our culture to a postmodern mindset and what that means for Christian films. "I feel like everything's becoming more sophisticated...we're less of a Christan culture and shifting towards a generally more secular culture, and so peope aren't as willing to 'buy' your story if it's just, 'the Bible says' something. You know, they want to know what did it do for you as an individual."

Our Story

Our center provides a place where students, educators, leaders, and organizations can find insight and training related to the effective use of cinema, web and interactive media, and all kinds of communication for Christ-centered ministry. Our Master of Arts in Cinema, Religion, and Worldview combines top-quality instruction in the narrative, artistic, and technical creation of films with web and interactive filmmaking, and related media. We also explore: gospel communication, foundations of Christian theology and worldview, and conversations with people of different worldviews. The MA gives serious film creators the technical, artistic and intellectual skills they need to create powerful, beautiful films and change their world.
