Lansford

Lansford Council Memeber Jay Doyle has been sentenced to 42 to 84 months in state prison. This steming from an incident that took place Aug of 2023. Doyle pleaded guilty to Aggravated Assault with intent to cause serious bodily harm. Doyle has turned him and his sentence begins today.

The victim had nearly $1,000,000 worth of medical bills which included removing part of his skull and multiple other injuries A surveillance camera caught the whole incident which showed Doyle striking the man.

Smoke has filled the air and now the smell of fire can be smelt all through the Lehigh Valley. 100's or acres burned and Crews are still fighting. It kinda reminds you of the Canadian Wildfires.

Prayers for all the folks fighting this wildfire.

Progress is slow but crews are doing everything they can to stop this fire. We are being told planes may start flying tomorrow to help with this wildfire.

Currently multiple fire crews on the mountain, as well as at leat 2 helicopters in the air dropping water, gathering from the lehigh.

Here is your current view from Rt 248 in Palmerton as well as from Slatington. Multiple roads are being closed jn the area for Crews to work. Expect delays as Crews do everything they can to get on top of this.

Alder Dr in Walnutport is closed. 🚫🚧🛑
You can’t use it as a shortcut out to 248. They will however, leave you through if you live there.

Coming up blue Mountain they have fire trucks out there making sure everybody goes slow on 145 coming into 248. They have it blocked off where they can’t go up to timberline or come down that direction but you can’t get the Palmerton and you can get off at the Slatington exit and the Walnutport area. It is very bad out.

Folks are out there on the side of the road trying to get pictures and videos. Unfortunately folks trying to get videos are blocking the roadway. Cops and Fire Police are coming to have you removed as we type.

Smoke fills the air while the mountain still burns. Please use caution while you are out traveling in Walnutport,slatington, Palmerton area As you you run into fire Crews along the way.

Drone video of the brush fire. As you can see in some places this thing is still burning pretty good. I couldn't even imagine being up there trying to fight this and not be able to see.

Lehighton

Just got word that some folks are worried about the fire moving down into their area.

From Multiple Fire Fighters.
"Please let the folks of Lehighton that they have nothing to worry about They are safe."

Fire Fighters have been pulled from the mountain at this time and will continue to work hard at it tomorrow morning. From reports the fire may be down in the ground traveling through the root system.
That has yet to be confirmed on our end other then posts.

Compilation of The Mountain fire currently taking place. This fire has been burning sinceEarlier this afternoon and currently still burning. Multiple crews were fighting this blaze from Multiple Counties. Hopefully the wind does not pick up to keep fueling this fire.

Folks are starting to get a bit worried as the fire is now getting pretty damn close to properties. Hopefully all the crews fighting this fire can get a handle on it as it is now starting to endanger folks.
