Cheers to Friday! The way you start your day sets the tone for the rest of the day. So why not start on a positive note? 😃 One important thing I’ve learned this year is balance 🔑 I’ve always gone from one extreme to another in different parts of my life, especially with health and food, but this time I’m teaching myself that it’s okay and balance is - loving myself, treating myself, and enjoying myself. Each day won’t be perfect, but carving out time to incorporate healthy habits and at other times knowing when I need something else to feel fulfilled is key. We are all unique, so what may work for me or someone else, will not work for everyone. The below are a few of my favorite healthy habits that I include on some of my days - because let’s be honest, every day is not realistic and setting up that expectation will only hurt you if you don’t do it. So be kind and happy with what you can and want to do, whenever you do it 😊☀️ wake up and appreciate the sunlight🍋 make a cup of hot water with freshly squeezed lemon. This is great to have first thing in the morning as it helps with digestion 💛 I sometimes like to add ground turmeric as it helps with inflammation🧘🏼♀️ include about ~20 minutes of movement as the start of my day. Sometimes that means going for a nice walk outside in the morning, or stretching on my mat with lo-fi music, or using light weights as a way to introduce my body back to lifting💕 focusing on just me: the texts, calls, and emails will be there when you’re done and ready to start your day📖 read and journal - I just started Just A Thought by Amy Johnson🥞 making a yummy breakfast to enjoy and fuel my body💦 hydration! The greatest thing. I’ve been making infused water with different fruits and mint/basil for over a month now as I love the taste and love the benefits! 🤗

DIRECTIONS
🍌 Mash 1/2 a banana with a few raspberries. Add 1 date to the mix and mash together. (Make sure to remove the pit from the date first!)
💕 Add mashed mixture to a mason jar
💕 Layer 1/3 of a cup of sprouted gluten free oats - I use @onedegreeorganics
💕 Next add 2 TB of chia seeds
💕 To ensure I get my vitamin and supplement needs in, I added 1 scoop of @amazinggrass chocolate flavored superfood (optional)
🍁 Splash of maple syrup. I used one from Canada that I got last year in Niagara Falls 😻
🥛 Top with 1/2 cup of creamy oat milk + 1/2 cup of coconut milk
🥜 1 Tb of peanut butter - you can use almond or cashew butter as well
🍦 A few spoonfuls of unsweetened vanilla coconut yogurt
🔥 Mix that baby up and refrigerate overnight ❄️
💕 Add your toppings when ready to eat! I added a mix of raspberries, blackberries, a sprinkle of oats, cacao nibs, and sliced almonds

Honey crisp apples are my favorite, so I had to add them to water to try! After trying, apple infused water with mint and basil is easily one of my favorite combinations. It’ll for sure be a staple in my fridge!
The apples are also a nice snack while I’m drinking the water 😉
