Vote for Hayden Grove! #thevoice
When I launched my own production company, one of the projects we created combined my love of long format interviews with luxury vehicles — the series was called Driving Cleveland (started in 2016). In this episode, I interviewed a local sports reporter with an incredible voice! Today, he will become a contestant on NBC’s The Voice! Vote for Hayden Grove! The message of this post is that YOU CAN combine your passions/talents and turn them into a career. You don’t have to hate your work or stay stuck in something that doesn’t feed your creative spirit! But you will have to take chances on yourself and face uncertainty. I say, go for it! #nbcthevoice #TheVoice #drivingcleveland #michaelbuble #adamlevine
Telling Denzel Washington the best thing Russell Crowe ever said to me!
I’m often asked, “WHO was your favorite celebrity interview?” I’ll always go back to this story. I go into greater detail in my book, Live Your Playlist, but this 23-second version captures the essence of the story.
I was 22 years old with little interviewing experience. Not quite confident in myself yet. I was flown to LA to interview @russellcrowe for the film THE INSIDER. This is pre-Gladiator. He was kind and generous with his time. He recorded a game-changing message for me during our interview. I settled into a good run in tv. 10 years later I had the opportunity to tell him what it meant to me (with Denzel in the room!). #pinchme #lifemoment
I’ve been a fan of Russell Crowe and his work ever since! And I take the meaning of that moment with me even now as I’ve moved past tv and owning my video production company @piscesrisingmedia.
The takeaway: One kind gesture can make a huge impact on someone’s confidence. Be good to people. Help others. Use kind words. Words have impact. Lead with a good heart. ❤️
Sharing this from an event I attended a couple weeks ago. The Rock Hall rolled out the red carpet for #73 Joe Thomas! It was really special to celebrate this great human being, elite athlete, and someone who loves Cleveland with my family. My first time “experimenting” with a 360 degree spin Photo Booth! I had no idea what I was doing, so pretty much laughed through it all.
Over 20 years in the business, but I still need retakes! Haha! This is a clip from filming with our client Herman's Furniture & Design. I’m also a brand ambassador for this family-owned company. Top 3 things I love most about them? 1. Quality of product. 2. Highly talented interior design team and the personal care you get from the designers. 3. Local, small business! I have a soft spot for small businesses. 🇺🇸
Going through old books and saw this gem from Tim Russert. An oldie but goodie. Would make a great Father’s Day read. Does anyone else miss watching and listening to Tim Russert?
Chasing Rainbows! A sign that there can always be beauty after a storm. This is the most brilliant and magical rainbow I’ve ever seen in my life! 🌈💞❤️
LISTEN, just listen.
I filmed this the other day when I took a drive to Marblehead, Ohio on a 60-something degree day. What is it about water and it’s sounds that become immediately soothing, balancing, and cleansing? Maybe it’s bc we’re made up of mostly water. I love what the Danish writer Isak Dinesen said about water, “The cure for anything is salt water - sweat, tears, or the sea.” Yep, that’s pretty much on point! Mother Earth gives us everything we need to heal. 🌎🌍🌍❤️
Shifting your purpose during uncertain times. ✨
I had a fascinating conversation with Dr. Jeffrey Rediger about his book CURED! Of course I was especially interested on his research about the healing powers of human connection after giving my TED Talk about the power of human connection. CURED tells the remarkable stories of people who beat their medical “death sentences” and found ways to heal themselves. A must-read for anyone who makes health, wellness, and healing lifestyle choices a part of their daily ritual. And also, anyone who doesn’t. My conversation with Dr. Rediger is an hour long. I promise you’ll learn something interesting and new.
