Visited Look Up to Cleveland Youth program today! Brought a Coping Box for teens to see and ask questions. I was soooo happy to find that one of the students received a at an event last year! And she STILL has it and she still uses it!💕🥰 .

Applications are open to anyone who has an idea for a project, program, or event to create a better, stronger Cleveland.

HOW IT WORKS
Applicants are selected to pitch in one of five categories and a panel of judges drawn from community leaders select one finalist in each category. The five finalists pitch again to the full audience, which votes on the winner. The winner receives $5,000 and the remaining five finalists each receive $2,000 to help bring their ideas to life. Technovation, a separate competition, will award $3,500 to the most innovative technology-based idea. Click on the tabs below to learn more about the event.

I've spent the last few months participating in c/o 2023! As the cohort is coming to an end, I'm charged with the honor of hosting a Workforce Development Conversation. I welcome students, recruiters, hiring managers, individuals struggling with securing equitable employment to attend. This conversation will focus on leveling the playing field for non-traditional employment candidates. How can we change the way we place value on skills? How can we advocate for others?

I have this 7th grade student that tends to choose to not use words, but he ALWAYS participates in the activities--so I don't push him too much. I just go with it.

Last week, I missed a week of programming due schedule conflicts (shout out to my facilitator for covering for me!)... Anyways, I returned yesterday and he greeted me with a big hug--still no words. This was so unexpected but very much welcomed.
