‼️New Artist Spotlight‼️

Addie is from Vicksburg, Mississippi. Her hobbies include singing, songwriting, and vocal and instrumental performance. She also enjoys painting and sketching in her spare time. However, her music is her primary form of expression. During the 2020 pandemic, Addilyn Ann began her writing journey while looking for something to do while quarantined away in her room.

Addilyn Ann stated, "I wrote 'Late Night Train Wreck' after having a panic attack, and I wanted to mirror what that feels like with my songwriting and composition as a form of therapy for myself. The song is meant to take someone through the process of overthinking. It starts with sporadic ideas, leads into self-doubt, and finally, an ending of hopelessness. The song is not meant to be happy. However, listening to it forms a sense of relatability. This song was my therapy; my goal is to help others with what they are going through by letting them know they are not alone. Highlighting the ugly feelings is what helps us heal. I didn't want to write a happy song; I wanted to write a real song."

‼️Today's Highlight is Jude Heraut‼️
Jude is an audio engineer from Paris, France. He joined the Delta Music Institute in 2021. Jude states, "I came to the DMI because I make my own music and fell in love with the audio engineering program at the DMI."

We are proud to have Jude on our audio engineering team for Fighting Okra Records! You can hear Jude's work on the Fighting Okra Records, Volume 4 album, "Trouble Phases."

‼️Today's Highlight is John Mcgee‼️
John is from Byram, Mississippi. He fell in love with music from his Dad, who played a variety of genres. John started making music at age 14. He likes to make auxiliary music with either a sampler or DAW.

John states, "I go through many different kinds of music depending on my feelings. Once, I went through a phase where most of what I listened to was instrumental. I liked how some artists could tell a story with instruments and atmosphere. I try to replicate that same experience in my music." 🎶

‼️Today's Highlight is Kyuhyenon "David" Cho‼️
David is an artist from Seoul, South Korea. The DMI program had a significant impact on his transition to Cleveland, Mississippi. David states, "He felt like DMI gave him the best chance for being a successful audio engineer." Within the program, he wants to further his education and find an audio/visual technician job in the entertainment industry. 🔊David is also a featured artist on Fighting Okra Records, Volume 4, and he is a part of the engineering team for the label!

😎Fun Fact: David is an exceptional cellist with perfect pitch.

‼️Today's Highlight is Cocoa Rae!‼️
Cocoa is an indie pop artist from Toledo, Oregon. The DMI summer camp had a significant impact on her transition to Mississippi. Cocoa states, "She felt like DMI gave her the best opportunity." Within the program, she wants to further her education and find an engineering job in the industry. You can find her single "Addict" on all streaming platforms. Cocoa is also a featured artist on Fighting Okra Records, Volume 4, which was just released.
