As most of you know I host a metal radio show on WRUW-FM 91.1 Cleveland,CWRU's college radio station, called Radio Children. Now it's time for our annual fundraiser and I'm asking for your support!

WRUW is important to me because it provides an outlet for creative expression unlike anything found on commercial radio. It provides a voice to the Cleveland community through music and the variety of content is unlike any other station on the planet. We have electronic shows, metal, folk, international, reggae, rap, indie, show tunes, country and everything in between.

WRUW is truly a special place and every donation helps us to continue our mission and bring more music, fewer hits to the Cleveland community and worldwide online through our live stream.

Happy Bandiversary to The Acacia Strain !!

Turns out TAS is 20 this year. I officially have been in this band longer than I haven’t - if that makes sense. Does last year even count? Maybe we should take a gimme. Saying stuff like “I’ve been in this band for 20 years” really causes some odd thoughts. You look inward a lot. It makes you think about how long/short 20 years is. Doesn’t FEEL like twenty years, but so much has happened; not only with the band but personally. How much have I grown? How many regrettable decisions have I made? Do I have another TWENTY years left in me? I’ve said it before, I’ll say it 100 more times - we all know it - the past 12-18 months have been fu***ng rough. Will they get better? Are things going to get worse? Am I happy with myself and the decisions I have made? All we can do is try to be happy with where we are in this moment, and try to change the things that we can while we are able so that we are able continue to be happy with our little moments in the future. Don’t focus on your regrets; give strength to your good decisions so you can continue to have the confidence to keep making them. I love every single person in this photo, to the people I talk to on a daily basis, and to all of you for still believing when it all seems impossible to do so. Here’s to the past 20 years, all of the people who existed in this band for however long they did, and all of the people currently in the band now who are making it the best version that has ever existed. Thank your for your support. Thank you for your kind words. Most importantly, here’s to another __ years. – Vincent

WRUW means the world to me. It has provided me with so many opportunities and has really changed my life. Without the people I met, I know I would not have made it through college. The first time I ever flew on an airplane was for a college radio conference and it changed my view and unleashed the travel bug. I got to interview my favorite band Born of Osiris for my show while they were on tour playing at The Agora! Thank you WRUW-FM 91.1 Cleveland for all that you to for CWRU students, Cleveland community members, and worldwide listeners!

Not an April Fools-- we have a fried circuit at our transmitter site that has caused our on-air signal to go out. Our tech director has to take this little piece home for an overnight, where he will solder it back together.
