There will be a brief multi-media presentation at the Ganza Saturday, celebrating the "Mab Zab Life" of our dear friend Bob Burford. Try to arrive by 9:00 to catch it. Ganza starts at 8:00.

This year's Zabby Awards are reminiscent of the awards presented in 2001, but these are made of pure 24 karat gold with a marble base and Chiquita adornment. The awards will be presented on Saturday, February 15th.

Jinni Fontana and Paul Nickels are busy doing final mixes for Jinni's new Banana release, "OH, Cleveland!" at Handsome Studio. The album, containing songs inspired by, or about, her home town, is due out in March!

The newest album by Butterfield 8 is now available on all streaming services (Spotify, iTunes, Amazon, etc.) The 11-song album features 10 new songs written by Jim Butterfield. Les Vincent is featured on Lead Vocals on one tune (Coloring Book), and there is an 11th song...a live cover of Pere Ubu's "Final Solution" from The Phantasy in 1991.

We are saddened to report that Bob Burford, Co-Founder of Banana Records, passed away yesterday. Bob was a great friend who will be sorely missed. Rest In Peace Brother Bob.

I finally got the chance to present Rick Christyson with his "Best Guitar Player - 2021" Zabby Award at a gig with his band "Rockport" at the Burntwood Grill in Rocky River tonight. Rick treated us to one of his signature leads shortly thereafter.

Rumor has it that Banana recording artist Les Vincent is working on new material, and he has enlisted the services of renowned studio bassist J T Bottoms. We will keep you posted.

Mick Butter is on his way to Cleveland to re-open the Banana North Studio. The Winter sessions in Florida resulted in 9 new songs for an upcoming Butterfield 8 release. Visitors to Banana South this year included a Mab Zab co-founder, Mick's favorite daughter and The Big Banana herself!

Penny Seko spent a few days at the Banana Records South Studios and assisted in the planting of a grapefruit tree to mark the 2nd anniversary of the studio's opening.
