Did you know that Pinterest is allowing creators to monetize now?! They recently rolled out their Creator Rewards Program where creators can earn up to $2,000+ monthly for posting original content and completing all the goals they have set up.

Two most important things to know? ➡️ 1.) You must have a Business Pinterest account to be eligible, and 2.) you need to have posted at least 3 Idea Pins to be eligible for the program. Idea pins aren't your normal Pinterest Pins. Idea Pins are pins set up almost like an IG carousel post where you can add multiple slides of photos and video to swipe through.

Once you've set up your biz account, get going on posting all your original content as Idea Pins! Be sure to use text on your videos when necessary and rich keywords in your text overlays and pin titles so that your pins reach the right audience.

To niche down, or to not niche down? That is the question we're tackling today!

Hint: there's no right or wrong answer!

Niching down has its benefits, especially for brands. It can make brands seem more established and gives them expert status in their field.

For creators on the other hand, niching down may discourage them from putting out other types of content. But niching down does help creators grow more quickly when they're actively involved in a community or particular interest.

Something to consider is the purpose and overall end goal of your social account.

If you are looking to sell a product as a brand, or monetize as a creator, it's essential for your followers to know that you are legit and experienced. Niching down helps make this possible as it helps you become "well-known" in your field.

If you are doing social media just for fun or as a hobby with no desire to sell a product or monetize, then niching down isn't exactly necessary.

Swipe through ➡️ to learn the reasons why people may choose to buy followers and how doing so can hurt your account long-term.

Social platform algorithms are smarter than we think. They can detect when followers are bought; just like how they can detect your interests and serve you ads specific to those interests. Because most platforms encourage users to grow organically using their many features, the algorithms will suppress content from those accounts with bought/fake followers.

This hurts your account in the long term because your posts will constantly be flagged by the algorithm. This means your posts will not reach the same number of users as they would if you had earned your followers organically. This inhibits your posts from reaching your followers' feeds, and it also inhibits your posts from reaching new users on the Explore page.

Most consumers who shop on social media have a basic understanding of how one grows an account on these platforms. When a business page buys followers and its posts aren't reaching many users, the interactions on the post tend to be very low compared to the number of followers. Consumers see this as a red flag and therefore tend to not follow through with the purchase.

Since bought followers may not be interested in your products and content, they may eventually unfollow. Most social platforms also have routine sweeps in place to remove bot/fake accounts, so those users end up falling off as well.

In conclusion, buying followers can cause long-term damage to your account. Algorithms can stunt your account's growth if it has any reason to believe the followers (or even interactions) are fake. Bought followers end up falling off and unfollowing down the line and your money will have been wasted.

Are you an established content creator that’s ready to start working with brands? Then you need this checklist in your life! ⬇

It’s especially important to come prepared when reaching out to brands. If you provide the brand with everything they need, you are much more likely to get a positive response from them (and less likely to get ghosted). Below are four guidelines to follow before you reach out to your dream brands!

1.) Make sure to gather the appropriate email addresses for the brands. You don’t want to email the brand’s customer service, otherwise, your emails will get lost with the hundreds of other support requests.

2.) Have a professional Media Kit that lets brands get to know a bit about you and your content. Your Media Kit should also include all the necessary social media statistics for any platforms you are on. Need a Media Kit? DM us to see what we can do for you!

3.) Use a solid email template with a pitch. Having a template handy that you can tweak for each brand will help you save time. Having a good pitch is what will help you stand out from all the other creators reaching out to the same brand. Be clear to the point, but also show some of your personality through your pitch. Let the brand know why they should work with YOU over anyone else!

4.) Have confidence! Remember, you’re pitching yourself to your dream brands. If you lack confidence in yourself, the brand won’t be confident in you either!

Is your account stagnant in growth? Do you feel like your posts are reaching no one despite putting out high quality content? If so, then you're in the right place! It's not always your content that's the problem… you may be lacking in the engagement department!

When trying to grow organically on social media, something to keep in mind is that you need to be social! This means interacting with other users on the platform. And no, not just on your own posts and stories! It's essential to engage on *other* users' posts. This is one of the only ways to help yourself stand out on IG besides posting content.


You may have heard of Gary V's "Dollar Eighty Method". It's a great method because the principles behind it will, in fact, help you grow organically. However, you don't need the Dollar Eighty software to achieve those results. It's just a fancy term for engaging on others' posts!


At Sparkle, we recommend spending a few hours a week engaging on other's posts to achieve long-term organic growth. And we recommend following a similar process to the Dollar Eighty Method, but with slight modifications.


First, we recommend compiling a list of hashtags related to your niche(s). Be sure to choose only micro and macro hashtags (see post from 3/10 for more info on hashtag groups).


Next, engage with 10 of the most recent posts under those hashtags, and then 10 of the top posts. Like every post and leave a genuine comment on every post. Every comment should be different and unique (no spamming)!


Repeating this engagement technique on a regular schedule will help you grow organically long-term and it will also increase your engagement rate.

Engaging on other's posts keeps *your* posts cycling through the algorithm for others to see. It's a two-way street when it comes to IG. This engagement method has worked for so many of our clients and is sure to pull you out of your rut!

Hashtags are keywords, or tags, that you can add to your posts in order to increase visibility and reach. When used correctly, hashtags are efficient at targeting ideal audiences, as well as increasing overall engagement on one's posts.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When coming up with hashtags for your post, you will want to use ones that are most relevant to the content being presented.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The most important factors to consider when using hashtags are:
•How many posts are currently attached to that hashtag, and
•If the hashtag is banned or not.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When a hashtag is banned, Instagram will show a message under that hashtag saying that recent posts are hidden. You will want to refrain from using banned hashtags as they can limit the visibility, and ultimately the reach, of your posts.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Additionally, you will want to be sure to rotate out the hashtags you use on every single post. If you repeat the same hashtags on all of your posts, Instagram will filter your posts as spam, and they will limit the post's visibility.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It helps to create hashtag "groups" with 3-5 hashtags per group. Then, you can rotate the groups for each of your posts. Be sure to use all new hashtags for each group so that you do not repeat any hashtags. **Update: In Sept 2021 IG announced that accounts should us between 3-5 hashtags. Disregard what the slide says**.

Furthermore, you will want to refrain from using too many hashtags that have 600k to millions of posts attached to them.

Your posts will get lost under very popular hashtags. You can include a few (1-3) mega hashtags, but most of your hashtags should be from the micro and macro groups. This will optimize your post to reach the most users.

Here are 5 tips for writing better Instagram captions!

1.) Include a Call-To-Action. Call-To-Actions prompt the user to do something, and they're very efficient at what they do. If you want to increase your follower count, tell your followers to follow you. If you want to increase your engagement, tell your followers to comment and like on the post and/or visit your stories. Whatever your goal is, use call-to-actions to tell your audience what to do so that you can achieve that goal.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2.) Include important keywords at the beginning of your caption! Remember, Instagram only shows the first few lines of the caption of each post on the feed. It's important that you capture the attention of the user right away by including important keywords relevant to the content at the beginning of the caption! This way it stops the scroll and encourages the user to finish reading the post.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
3.) Use emojis! Adding emojis to your captions adds emotion and can help convey your message a bit better.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
4.) Break up paragraphs into smaller sections of text. When users see one long paragraph of text as the caption, they are more likely to scroll past the post. Splitting your captions up into several smaller sections makes the information more digestible for your viewers.

5.) Don't put hashtags in your captions. They can make your captions look spammy and crowded. This makes it more likely for users to scroll past your post without engaging.

Instead, leave a comment with your hashtags right after you post. It will clean up your captions and make them more enticing to read. Leaving a comment also counts as engagement so it's a win-win!

1.) Use a VPN. A VPN hides your IP address which can give away your location. is an amazing VPN provider that I've been using for years. Using a VPN also hides your data from companies, competitors, and hackers.

2.) Don’t show the outside of your house/home/neighborhood in your content. People can easily find where you live this way. If filming in your backyard, always film with the camera pointing away from your home.

3.) Use the block button! If someone is being creepy on your posts and asks where you're located, don't respond. Block them. You don't owe them an explanation. If someone is making you feel uncomfortable or harassing you, they deserve the block. Period.

4.) Use a separate email for your social media accounts. This email address should not be connected to any bank accounts, apps, or websites containing payment information (i.e. PayPal/Venmo/CashApp).

5.) Set up 2-step verification on all your social media and emails. This adds an extra layer of protection to your accounts. A great app for managing all your verification codes is Google Authenticator.
