After meeting my daughters, every man I dated would leave me. So, I brought home a "fake" boyfriend to understand why.
It took me three short relationships to realize what was really happening. Each time, it was the same story: we’d have a great time together, everything would go smoothly, then I’d introduce my boyfriend to my daughters, and—boom! He’d leave almost immediately. They already knew I had daughters, so it shouldn’t have been a surprise. I tried to find out what went wrong, but each one of them ignored my questions.
After the third breakup, I decided to ask a coworker for help. I invited him over for dinner and introduced him to my daughters as my new boyfriend. During dinner, I made sure to leave the room often, giving my friend plenty of time to interact with the girls. When I returned, he looked paler than usual and was gripping his fork with visible nervousness.

I COULDN'T REACH MY HUSBAND FOR DAYS — THEN MY MOTHER-IN-LAW CALLED ME AND SAID, "PROMISE ME NOT TO TELL MATTHEW WHAT I WILL SAY."
My husband, Matthew, disappeared. After 15 years of marriage, he only left a small note on the table, "Don't search for me." Honestly, at first, I thought it was just a joke. I tried to call him, but his phone was dead. I called his parents and friends asking if they knew his whereabouts, but none of them knew anything.
When he didn't return home for two days, I went to the police, but they told me that they wouldn't look for him because of the note he left. I was very worried and confused. I didn't know how to explain to our four young kids that their father had just left us. Also, I missed him dearly.
On the 10th day of his disappearance, my mother-in-law called me. "IF YOU WANT TO KNOW THE TRUTH, PROMISE ME YOU WON'T TELL MATTHEW WHAT I WILL SAY," she said right after I picked up her FaceTime call.

MY HUSBAND KEPT TAKING OUR KIDS TO "VISIT GRANDMA" — UNTIL ONE DAY, WHEN MY DAUGHTER REVEALED THAT WASN'T THE TRUTH.
For months, every Saturday, my husband Mike would take our kids, Ava (7) and Ben (5), to visit his mom. He'd grown closer to her since his dad passed, so I didn't question it.
But he never invited me. "It's bonding time," he'd say. "You need a break."

I never in my life imagined I'd find myself in a situation like this.
It was a quiet morning on my day off. I was cleaning the house while my husband was fixing the pipes in the basement. Suddenly, I heard yelling outside, mixed with the sound of metal banging.
I realized my husband couldn't hear a thing from the basement, so I ran out to see what was going on. And THAT'S when I saw her—a woman in a wedding dress standing on the roof of my husband's car, screaming, "WHY DIDN'T YOU SHOW UP TO OUR WEDDING?!"
I was in total shock. I ran toward her and shouted, "You've got the wrong house! That's my husband's car, not your fiancé's!"
"Does Jonathan live here?" she asked also mentioning his last name, and my heart nearly stopped.

MAN FINDS A SMASHED PHONE ON THE ROADSIDE — WHEN HE INSERTS THE SIM CARD INTO HIS OWN PHONE AND CALLS ""DAUGHTER,"" HE RUSHES TO HELP.
This morning was like any other for 30-year-old Alan. He walked to the bakery to get fresh rolls for his mom. But as he walked down the street, an old, broken phone, battered like it had been run over by a car, caught his eye.
Alan, a programmer with a love for tech, picked it up, thinking he could maybe fix it later. He didn't think much of it and tucked it in his pocket. After breakfast, he inserted the SIM card into his own phone and, out of curiosity, dialed the only number saved: ""Daughter.""
""Mom!"" the child’s voice said. ""Is that you?""
Alan's heart skipped a beat. ""I'm not your mom,"" he said, confused. ""Who is this?""
The voice sounded disappointed but then replied, ""Where's Mom?""
Alan, unsure what to do, stuttered, ""I don't know. I found a broken phone, switched the SIM, and called. Who are you?""

Alan's heart pounded. ""Julie, can you tell me — are you okay? Is there anyone there with you?""
Julie's response hit him hard: ""I'm alone. My legs don't work, so I can't go anywhere.""
The confusion in Alan's mind deepened. ""Wait, Julie, your legs don't work? How have you been getting around?""
""I use a wheelchair. But there's no one here to help me,"" Julie's voice trembled.
Alan's protective instincts kicked in.
""Julie, I need you to listen to me carefully. I'm coming to get you, okay?""
When Alan arrived at little Julie's address, the door opened, revealing a tiny, frail girl sitting in a wheelchair. She looked up at him with tired, wide eyes, her face full of sadness.
""Will you find my mom?"" Julie asked softly with tears in her eyes.
