🚗 Sometimes the best finds come when you least expect them! After a long, winding journey through closed roads and reroutes, we stumbled upon The Liars Table in Elk River, North Carolina – Just beyond Tennessee’s border – like a mirage in the distance. ☕️🥪

Kacie and Faith, traveling on behalf of a local nonprofit, were in desperate need of a caffeine boost and some food, and The Liars Table delivered exactly that! Owners Amos and Kaci welcomed us with fresh, farm-to-table sandwiches and much-needed coffee. Their market is packed with locally sourced goodies – from meats and produce to handmade soaps and unique gifts.

If you’re ever in the Elk River area, this gem is worth the stop! And if you do make it by, please tell them you saw them here on LOCAL Tennessee and thank them for us!

During our visit to their food truck location at 1640 Fort Campbell Blvd, we asked the owner, 'What sets your food apart?' The owner replied, 'Have you ever heard of lemon honey butter wing sauce?' and 'Have you ever tried our signature rice?' We hadn't, and we were eager to try. This visit was truly memorable.

🍔 LOCAL Eats Spotlight: Ground Restaurant

Kacie and her family recently visited Franklin, Tennessee, for a wrestling match and wrapped up their day with some incredible local eats at Ground!

✨ Why we loved it:

Friendly staff that made us feel right at home
Freshly made dishes with plenty of sauce options (yes, sauces galore!)
Cozy atmosphere perfect for unwinding

Kacie raved about the buffalo chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries, while McLain gave the Philly spud a big thumbs up. Everything was delicious!

With two locations and a food truck, Ground is a must-visit. When you stop by, don’t forget to let them know that LOCAL sent you!

Meet our newest friend Anna. She is one of the servers at TennFold Brewing and took great care of us. This locally owned restaurant and brewery has a large menu filled with small plates like calamari and cheese curds, salads, soups, sandos, burgers, pizza, ribs and more.

Kacie was extremely impressed with the Greek Goddess Bowl with Chicken (see photo).

For fresh brews, they have year round and seasonal options. Happy hour is Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 2pm-5pm.

Our friend Petra recently visited The Land, an amazing agricultural co-op, and we couldn’t wait to share her experience!

Here’s what Petra had to say:
✨ “Finally made it to &Garden —what a great place! They sell native plants, beautiful gifts, and even Christmas trees right now. So much to explore!

🍴 The Yorkshire Deli is a must-visit too, with delicious food, tea, and cozy seating by fireplaces. It’s so inviting!”

We first visited The Land back in 2020, and WOW—it’s grown so much! If you’re up for a road trip to Kingston Springs, this spot is worth the drive.
