Want to catch fish? Here ya go... Anytime is a good time to fish, just get to know the water you are fishing at the time, but rain can be exceptionally good. That said, the reason why fishing (or catching) increases after a rain or many times during the rain... is because of bait. Live bait (microbial crawly bugs) that gets washed off the banks into the water get the baitfish excited. If the bait fish get excited the bass get excited. Pretty simple really!

Forming foam for fly tying:

Today, I worked on the Die design to bend the steel rules. These dies will be made from my 3D printers. YEP, printed from PLA plastic (I am not sure I can get the detail) but it won't be from the lack of trying. As shown, the finished product should look like this...

I really do want to keep the price down on these vise attached brush making tables. However, after reviewing what it cost me for:

The raw materials, delivery fees, the half hour of driving to get them to the post office to ship, the electric to run the 3D printers, the amount of money Etsy charges me for transaction fees... the amount of profit is only a fraction.

Look, I am not looking to get rich off of any of my endeavors. I simply like making things and sharing them. I am grateful for those of you who have bought any of my projects; however, without charging a reasonable amount, it just doesn't make to sell where I can't at least make a few bucks.

$35 is an awesome price for the buyer, not so much for the person doing all the work and buying what is needed to make them. After the ones listed on Etsy are sold... the price is going up to $45... which is still a great price considering what it does.

Please consider sharing this with friends who are fly tyers… they may not know about this awesome tool attachment to their vise.

Bigger flies, "typically" equal bigger fall smallmouth. 6" on a Gamakatsu B10S size 2/0. I'm gonna make a brush for a finer transition from body to tail, just need to get some other stuff done first.

Making tube poppers from a 1" block of EVA foam cut from my barrel cutters. The tail is made from mostly of white and just a little black Kanekalon (hair extensions) infused with the flashy part of iridescent Holographic Gauze Fabric (all photos included). When making your brushes, "LESS" IS WAY "BETTER"!!! Then... I airbrushed using Sharpie pens (although I do have a COPIC system that I never use anymore. Yep... 100% home made. Poppers made accurately and easy. These two balsa jigs are the 1/4" & 5/16" sizes. I'll soon have 3/8" & 1/2". The kits will come with all sizes of stainless steel plug cutters sized to fit the balsa slicing jig; and that will make for perfectly sliced slits to insert hooks. The saw is not included, but I'll have a link to the proper saw on my website, and which hooks will work best for each size.
