It’s not typical that when a “famous”, or infamous, person dies I get a bunch of texts, but today was different. Steve Albini left a massive imprint on my sonic experience, and has always been an influence in how I think about recorded music, as many of my close friends know. Some people loved him, and some had a disdain, but you can’t argue that he was in it for the sonic integrity, and respect for artistic rights. He also happened to record some of the most prolific albums of our lifetime.

Rest easy, Steve.
