Deeply sorry to hear that "Q" Quincy Jones passed yesterday. He always stopped to say hello whenever I was working in Capitol Records and was always so supportive of the many times he walked into my sessions! Always a blessing to me!

I first met Q when I was mastering a big orchestra album at 10am in 'Bernie Grundman's Mastering' in Hollywood. At 11am in walked Q and asked if he could 'interrupt' to get Bernie to make another set of Masters for MJ's "THRIILLER" album - I of course said yes. It was the 75th set of Masters and the THRILLER album had hit 60 MILLION in sales! After that day Q ALWAYS said hello and was always welcomed at my sessions... what a talented wonderful man Quincy Jones was... RIP Q... ❤🥲🎺

In October last year composer and film director Yuval Shrem called and asked if I had time to do a final mix pass on a 5.1 film soundtrack for the film “INVISIBLE LINES” he was submitting for the “2023 OSCAR Awards.” The film did not win the OSCAR but it is winning everything else it seems! Congratulations to Yuval and the cast and crew of this very thought provoking exceptional film!

The new SHANGHAI CONSERVATORY OF MUSIC Jazz Program has just released a new CD/Stream of a "LIVE CONCERT" that I mixed, and mastered last month. This excellent jazz orchestra's guest conductor was 'Gene Aitken' at the invitation of SCOM Director of Jazz Studies Zhang Xiaolu. It will stream on the SCOM website and through iJazz Publishing International. The music and performances are outstanding... Jazz is Alive and Well in China!
